Six months ago, I could not have told you what a BB Cream was. As a matter of fact—in the beauty blogosphere, I still think that Musings of a Muse has the best grip on the matter, and I learned about most of them from her. These multi-tasking creams have been most popular on the Asian market for years—and it’s only been in recent months that brands with new U.S. versions are hitting our shores, and they are hitting hard. Can I please just say—thank you, BB Creams? You are ROCKING MY WORLD.

BB Cream can stand for blemish balm, or beauty balm—and depending on the ingredients; it can soothe, hydrate, provide a little coverage, offer sun protection, and more. It just so happens—the new Boscia B.B. Cream SPF 27 PA++ does all of those things and more, and it has been my best friend this month!

The Boscia B.B. Cream comes in just one universal, self-adjusting shade (most of them do), and I find that it’s even more functional than my favorite tinted moisturizer. As I blend it in, I feel it makes my pores look a little less visible, my fine lines look a tad smaller, my skin feels more hydrated, and it has a nice healthy glow. This is a botanical formula, and is free of any oils and preservatives. It doesn’t look like I have makeup on, it just looks like I have healthy skin!

Here’s how the shade adjusts on my fair skin:

It’s not meant to offer a lot of coverage, but it does even out a lot of the redness in my skin without covering my freckles, which I love. There’s a little bit of light-reflective particles in the formula that make the skin look luminous, and it truly looks much better on my face than it does on my arm right now.

A few facts about the contents of the B.B. Cream from Boscia:

Abyssine, a naturally-derived survival molecule, shields and soothes skin.
Hydroxyprolisilane promotes skin elasticity and reduces the appearance of fine lines.
Beta-Glucan provides essential moisture and protects against environmental damage.
Jojoba Leaf, a powerful antioxidant, combats free radical damage while it nourishes and protects skin to prevent premature aging, and Willowherb, a unique anti-irritant, helps to calm skin inflammation and reduce visible redness and irritation.

This is the first of several BB Creams I’m testing in the next few weeks, and if this is any indication of how the rest will perform, I will become a BB Cream-aholic for sure. Grab this one from Boscia if you can!

I’ve been reading about BB creams a lot lately. This is the first review I’ve read that explains what it really is. I had no idea what the BB actually stood for. I went to Bosica’s web site to find out and they didn’t have a clear description of what it is. Thank you. I don’t know it I’ll try it or not but I loved your review.

I must say that I am disappointed by the lack of coverage, as BB creams in Asia traditionally offer medium to almost full coverage. I wouldn’t even really call this a BB cream, more like a tinted moisturizer with some extra skin benefits. I guess that I’ll have to wait for the American beauty brands to catch on to what they’ve been doing in Asia for years already!

Thanks so much for this BB review. I first heard of BB creams (again) here in the states when Smashbox started to hype theres. Once I figured out what BB stood for, I thought back how I had used a fav product of mine in the 90′s from Clarins that was called Beauty Balm, also a multi purpose cream – a moisturizer, a mask. It felt great, I bought more than 3 tubes, but it did not do all what the new ones do. I thought I was in heaven with the tinted moisturizers with spf. I love multi-purpose products! Yeah BB creams!

This very BB cream is on my shopping list for when I go go America next week.

As you are a fair lass, like me, I would highly recommend you check out the Biotherm BB cream. It is my holy grail. I haven’t found 1 person who hasn’t fallen in love with it. It is amazing!

I’ve been using Boscia for the last few wks and have already been complimented on how great my skin looks.
I actually noticed right before i was complimented and thought wow my fine lines don’t look so obvious anymore.
Love this product and the universal shade. I may try other brands just to compare!

I cannot live without my Boscia BB Cream! I am a total cosmetics addict and get SO excited to try new products…except another BB cream. Been so happy with Boscia’s I haven’t even considered using another for my personal use. I have gotten so many compliments on my complexion since I started using it. I’ve been using this forever, and will be using it as long as they make it. Glad you like it too! ;)
