Review & Swatches: LORAC Naked Lace Collection for Fall 2011

No, your eyes are not deceiving you—that really is the cutest lace bag with the tiniest lip glosses you’ve ever seen! Whenever I see black lace, I immediately revert back to my childhood and think of the black lace gloves I had to have when I was in my Material Girl phase. Sadly, I left those gloves somewhere in the 80’s! One thing I probably won’t get tired of or leave behind is this new lingerie-inspired collection from LORAC. The Naked Lace Collection is new for fall and will be sold exclusively at ULTA. This little gem is priced just right—$28 for two full size eyeshadows, full size blush, and three mini liquid lipsticks in a ruffled lace bag. Pretty sweet, huh?

Negligee reminds me of one of my favorite eyeshadows of ALL time—MAC Nylon. Negligee is a tad more butter-toned and has a little bit less vibrancy, but can really work in the same way Nylon does. This makes a great highlight and brow bone shade, and also looks great if you finish up your eye look with a little dab of it in the inner corners of your eyes.

Boudoir is a plummy bronze frost eyeshadow that blends like a dream. This works well on the lid and the crease, and can be used both wet or dry. Applying this wet as a liner and then going over it dry makes it really pop, and brings out the best in green and hazel eyes.

LORAC’s liquid lipsticks are some of the best on the market (as are the eyeshadows!), and these three minis are some of the easiest colors to wear for both day or night. Muse is a cool creamy rose pink, Trend Setter is a shimmering peach, while Vintage is the perfect nude shade that doesn’t leave lips looking too drab. These last a little longer than a traditional gloss for me and have a vanilla-based fragrance to them. All three shades passed my “glide lips back and forth without stickiness” challenge. These contain skin-nurturing ingredients like hyaluronic acid for moisture, and jojoba and sweet almond oils to keep lips feeling smooth and protected from free-radicals.

Rendezvous is a warm rose blush with hints of shimmer and a touch of peach, suitable for all skin tones.

I highly recommend getting this one fast, because I’m thinking it will sell out due to how friendly these shades are for everyone—so don’t stalk it online or in-store for too long!
