Sneak Peek: bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 2.0 & 4.0

What lies within these sleek, soft-touch black compacts is absolutely extraordinary. bareMinerals took everything I love about their regular eyeshadows (the creamy texture, strong pigmentation, and beautiful shades), and added cold-pressed borage oil, cucumber, and sea minerals—in creating Ready Eyeshadow duos (2.0) and quads (4.0). Pressed (or solid) eyeshadows are a new concept for the top mineral makeup brand, but I imagine they spent a long time developing these; they’re incredibly silky, contain some of the best skin-nurturing ingredients around, and it’s still the purest product they can deliver. There’s no binders, parabens, fillers, or synthetic chemicals. How did they do that?

Created through a unique cold-pressed method, we’ve combined our proprietary SeaNutritive Mineral™ Complex – composed of positively-charged sea minerals extracted from nutrient-rich algae and seaweed – with powerful antioxidants, cold-pressed borage oil, caffeine and cucumber. Our solid concentrate delivers potent anti-aging benefits including depuffing and antioxidant protection for a softer, smoother, revitalized eye area. It looks like a powder but feels like a cream with a non-drying formula that delivers a beautifully smooth application of vibrant long-wearing color plus incredible skin-renewing benefits.

Ready 2.0 The Top Shelf Duo

  • Mixologist is a pale peach satin shimmer
  • Cognac is an amber colored metallic shimmer

Ready 2.0 The Perfect Storm Duo

  • Cumulus is an icy white satin
  • Tempest is a greyish-brown satin

The Dream Sequence 4.0 Quad

  • 500 Thread Count is a cream satin
  • Romp is a lavender-grey satin shimmer
  • Boudoir is an iridescent violet shimmer
  • Nightcap is a velvety plum satin

These are ready to wear, easy to apply, and didn’t crease or fade. (The swatches were done without any primer, so you can see just how rich the pigments are in the Ready Eyeshadows.) I’m certain this new formulation will turn the prestige eyeshadow world on its head! I have purchased several high-end eyeshadows that cost twice the price of the Ready shadows, but they fail to meet the exceptional quality that bareMinerals has developed here. These are perfect for anyone—if you always wanted to try a bareMinerals eyeshadow but were intimidated by the loose pigments, this is your chance to fall in love. If you already love bareMinerals shadows, you might just fall in love all over again once you try these!

Price & Availability: October 2011—Ready 2.0: $20.00, Ready 4.0: $30.00, bareescentuals.com

NOT a fan at all for the price point and lack of ability to customize the pans. They should have made them magnetic. It would have gone better with their company philosophy of being your own artist. They are not going to be part of my makeup stash. I cannot find all my little pots of mineral eye shadows when i want them and I keep cleaning them out down to nothing. They sneak back in when I succumb to a few new shades. I do like their mineral loose eye shadows..but I cannot find them as said when I want something.
