Things to love about babies…
- the way they smell when they’re fresh from a bath.
- their fuzzy little tufts of hair on their heads when it starts coming in.
- their chubby cheeks.
- their soft skin.
- their giggles and coos.
- OH! Their cherub-like lips. Who doesn’t love baby lips?
Maybelline knows everyone loves baby lips, so they’re giving us all the chance to have Baby Lips this October when their new lip balm with SPF 20 has it’s wide-release. They’re pretty serious about it too—so serious that they have six options to prove it to us.
Four tints:
- Cherry Me
- Pink Punch
- Grape Vine
- Peach Kiss
Two Clear:
- Quenched
- Peppermint
Each of the tints are subtly fragranced and flavored to mirror their fruits, while Peppermint is well, mint—but I can’t quite distinguish what Quenched is exactly. It’s slightly fruity, but I can’t pick it up. Here’s the good and the bad…If you don’t like strongly flavored lip balms like Lip Smackers, you’re in luck—because these are very faint flavors. If you LOVE strong lip balm flavors, Baby Lips doesn’t have that feature. Aside from providing immediate comfort to your lips and SPF protection upon application, these focus on continued lip health too. According to Maybelline—they’ve had impressive clinical findings after four weeks of trials:
- 94% less rough lips
- 82% better moisturized look
- 77% smoother
- 77% more supple
I tried swatching on bare skin, but the camera didn’t pick them up quite right. But that’s okay, because Baby Lips looks way better on, well—your lips!
It was hard to knock these—they felt great on my lips, have an SPF 20, the tints are subtle and flattering, and the price is just right. I can tell I’ll wind up purchasing Cherry Me by the boat load. Which one is your fave?
Price & Availability: $3.99 each—wide release in October at mass market retailers; like CVS and Target
