Fans of color, heads up! You won’t want to miss the new Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color shades for sure. In the past year, I’ve tried many, many lip color pencils. Some had the color right, but the consistency was too soft and turned into a mess. Others had the consistency right, but the pigmentation was seriously lacking. Urban Decay finally got it right! Here’s a chubby lip color pencil that packs a punch of pigment (say that five times, really fast), and doesn’t turn into a pool of goo while you swipe it across your lips.
Available in five scorching hot shades, I tried three of them; Crush (hot pink cream), Adrenaline (fuchsia sparkle), and F-Bomb (bright red cream). Also available—Punch Drunk (bright orange-coral cream), and Big Bang (bright pink sparkle).
Where do I start? First—the opacity is out of control! It wasn’t hard to get completely full coverage, as these glide with ease across the lips while maintaining a decent tip. The wear time for something so creamy was great as well, Crush lasted a good four hours before turning into a beautiful pink stain. These will stain the lips—so if you’re a quick-change artist, you might need to clean your lips really well with an oil-based makeup remover. Adrenaline was a tad less opaque than the creams, but another swipe makes it good to go. I didn’t notice a lot of migrating, but I did discover that F-Bomb (the intense red cream) was a little bit more challenging to control. If you have any feathering issues with bright shades, I definitely recommend the use of Urban Decay’s Lip Primer Potion, or even their clear 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Ozone as a deterrent.
The range of bold, pigment-packed shades, amped-up opacity, perfect consistency, and perfomance makes Super-Saturated almost perfect.
