The Muppets Collection from OPI is one of the most anticipated releases of the holiday season, with 12 new shades of nail polish for both fans of The Muppets, and polish junkies alike. You’ll find multi-dimensional glitters, and several neutral and red shades to rock this winter to help you stay festive!

“Not only do The Muppets characters inspire fun, bright and joyful colors, the fashionable Miss Piggy lends her name to three high-shine pink-based hues, ranging from bold red flecked with silver to a multi-dimensional strawberry shade.” –Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director

Animal-istic
This wild bright red cannot be tamed!

Meep-Meep-Meep
Missing out on this fuchsia would make you weep, weep, weep!

Wocka Wocka!
The popular deep berry makes everything fun and merry!

Pepe’s Purple Passion
This deep, decadent shade is the best purple ever, okay!

Designer, de Better!
And this light metallic bronze is ready for the runway.

Warm & Fozzie
A feel-good shade of metallic copper.

Rainbow Connection
The rainbow glitter of your dreams.

Excuse Moi!
Ahem! This pink glitter has something to say!

Gone Gonzo!
The aqua-blue glitter is taking over the world!

Fresh Frog of Bel Air
A glitter that prefers the greener things in life.

Divine Swine
The finest, most fabulous magenta glitter ever.

Gettin’ Miss Piggy With It!
Red glittery fun for everyone!

Swatches and shade descriptions…

Animal-istic is a shimmering orange/red with just a little bit of fuchsia flash.

Designer, De Better! is a satiny silver shade with very small particles of bronze shimmer.

Fresh Frog of Bel Air contains smaller emerald green glitter with medium silver hexagonal glitter in a clear base.

Divine Swine contains smaller magenta glitter with medium hexagonal silver glitter in a clear base.

Excuse Moi! has a sheer, bright strawberry pink jelly base with silver micro-glitter and small, round multi-colored glitter. (I’d like to see OPI pair up more sheer jelly bases with glittery textures in the future. I haven’t really seen this from OPI since the Katy Perry Collection.)

Gettin’ Miss Piggy With It! contains smaller round red glitter with medium hexagonal silver and red glitter in a clear base.

Gone Gonzo! contains small, round aqua glitter with medium hexagonal silver glitter in a clear base.

Meep-Meep-Meep is a fuchsia jelly with small holographic flakies.

Pepe’s Purple Passion is a deep purple hue with small holographic flakies.

Rainbow Connection contains smaller multi-colored glitter, with medium and large hexagonal multi-colored glitter. The result is a dimensional party on your nails!

Warm & Fozzie is a warm metallic copper with olive undertones.

Wocka Wocka! is a shimmering dark berry shade.

All swatches are shown with two coats of polish, and for the most part—those two coats give great coverage (with the exception of the shades with hexagonal glitter). If you want more full coverage with the glitters, you’ll definitely need a third coat. One of the things that surprised me most, was that even though I could feel the texture of the glitters on my nails, they weren’t as rough as I expected. Normally, they tend to feel very jagged—these were just a little bumpy which was tolerable.

My top picks from The Muppets Collection would have to be: Excuse Moi!, Designer, De Better!, Gone Gonzo!, and Animal-istic. If you like Deborah Lippmann’s Happy Birthday, you’ll also want to check out Rainbow Connection. It’s less than half the price and makes for a great alternative.

Price & Availability: This limited edition collection will be available beginning November 2011 at professional salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $8.50 each.
