Good Stuff: Proactiv Oil Free Moisture with SPF 15

Last month I started a series of posts for Proactiv products, and I know you’re all scratching your heads and wondering why on earth would I be doing such a thing—when I’m not someone who frequently struggles with consistent acne. Never fear! I chose several products for review that are suitable for anyone to use, whether you’re fighting the good fight against pimples or not. I chose the ones I felt would help keep your skin in tip-top shape, year-round!

I can’t go without a daily moisturizer in my skincare routine, in fact I’d feel pretty naked without it. For almost two months I’ve been applying the the Oil Free Moisture with SPF 15 as my first line of defense against the elements. Often I’m afraid that I’ll be able to feel the sunscreen on my skin and that it won’t play nicely with my foundation, it’s quite the balancing act. Now this might sound silly, but I was talking to a dermatologist a few months ago who told me that he thinks most of the public doesn’t rub in their products all the way—especially those with sunscreen, and we end up complaining about them. Later that night, I had to agree with him when I caught myself just slapping a serum on and walking away from the mirror while it was still moist on my face! BUSTED!

Since then, I’ve made a conscious effort to really take my time with my routine, my skin is worthy of the few seconds it takes to fully absorb the product, and when I apply the Oil Free Moisture with SPF 15, it’s no different. After I apply it, the feeling is so lightweight, yet soft, with the perfect amount of hydration that doesn’t interfere with my foundation. I have combination skin, with enlarged pores in my t-zone, and this product seems to provide the happy medium I’m often looking for. Keeping the dry skin hydrated, without kicking on the excess oil-production in my t-zone.

I would recommend this product for just about anyone, it’s a great daily-use multi-purpose product that’s gentle, while offering moderate sun protection.

Coming from someone who isn’t really battling a lot of acne on a consistent basis

I felt it was important for me to become a Proactiv Ambassador with the hopes that you could relate to someone like me. I think there’s a big misconception that Proactiv is for teens and tweens—but what most people don’t know is that there are several products in the line that are geared to help people like us who have the occasional breakout that we need to rid quickly, and that there are also several products in the line that will help maintain the overall health of your skin, even if acne isn’t a main concern of yours. Over the next few months, I’m going to spotlight a few of those products for you—the unsung heroes, if you will. And maybe, you’ll find an unsung hero of your own from Proactiv that helps you out too! Next month, I’ll spotlight another one of my favorite Proactiv products—I hope you’ll join me on the journey to finding what works for you.
