What’s New: Review & Swatches of Sephora Collection Prisma Chrome Eyeshadow

I spied these lovely shadows the day after Christmas at my local Sephora store, and have not been able to get my mind off of them! They’re super luminous, feel super smooth—and with 10 jazzy shades, they’re kind of hard to forget. These limited edition Prisma Chrome eyeshadows hail from Sephora’s house brand, Sephora Collection. I have to say, it has improved by leaps and bounds over the years and their private label has become a force to be reckoned with!

Each shadow is 1½ by 1½ inches and comes in an individual compact with a mirror. You can apply these wet or dry, but for me, the fun was in using these babies with a wet shadow brush.

Please note: I really don’t think you’ll have shipment issues resulting in broken eyeshadows like I did. When these arrived, I could tell from the exterior of the package that they had an extremely rough ride to me across the USA! While I’m bummed that these gorgeous shadows weren’t treated with TLC by the shipping carrier, I was able to make them work for this review. Whew!

I tried out three shades; Sapphire Shine (royal blue), Shimmery Sand (light golden sand), and Gold Reflection (bright yellow gold). I found the quality of the pigment to be pretty consistent across the board with Prisma Chrome—also taking into account the 15 minutes I spent swatching (and drooling over) them in the store.

Shades available (from sephora.com):

If this is Sephora Collection steppin’ out, I really like it! I experimented with a few different brushes while using Prisma Chrome, and I found that those with smaller, more dense heads worked best at delivering a punch of color. I know that these are limited edition, but I’m hoping that Sephora revisits this concept soon—especially with blushes and highlight/contour shades.

Bottom Line: These are pretty fab! I thought they packed a great amount of pigment in a shiny package. If there were one thing I could change, it would be their softness—they’re just a tad too soft and flaky. If you’re lacking a shimmery neutral, you owe it to yourself to add Shimmery Sand to your collection!

Really pretty eye shadows, especially the Gold Reflection. Now I don’t need to buy anymore eye shadow I have enough already but the colors are too cute to resist. I don’t have a color like the Gold Reflection and that might be the one for me.
