Looks like spring is all about long-wearing cosmetics! Several brands are releasing long-wear options for lips, eyes, and nails, and Maybelline is on-time to the party. I’ve previously reviewed their new Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Eyeshadows (don’t miss them), and the SuperStay 10HR Stain Gloss shades—but time out for something else that’s new! Check out the SuperStay 14HR Lipsticks…
Maybelline created these with a special flexible resin that adheres to the lips without feeling caked-on and overly dry, in just one step. Doesn’t it seem like most of the long-wearing options are two steps? They end up flaking on my lips most of the time, and they’re super drying!
With 20 pigment-packed 14-hour shades, it’s hard not to gravitate towards these at the drugstore. I’ve experimented with several of them over the last few weeks, so let’s take a look at 10 of the 20!

One facet that I’m really impressed by with these, is their full-coverage ability with a slightly satin finish. The pigments are nice and saturated, and only started to show signs of wear after several hours. It does slightly transfer when I take sips of a drink, but not so much that a majority of the color disappears. While I didn’t find these to dry out or flake on my lips, they do leave a little bit of a film on them which has a tiny bit of a tacky-feeling. Luckily, it’s not so much that my lips feel like they’re sticking together.
So, now on to the important part…did they last 14 hours?
The answer is ‘yes’ if you count traces of the color left behind after 14 hours, but ‘no’ if there was still full coverage after 14 hours. Truth be told, I brushed my teeth and slept with Till Mauve Do Us Part on, and wound up with a noticeable amount of the product still on my lips in the morning. It was only after 10 hours that I decided to call it quits, which is pretty darn impressive. Wearing this during the day resulted in up to eight hours of wear before I threw in the towel. That was through eating, drinking and unconsciously touching my lips (which I always tend to do for some reason). I also have a tendency to bite my bottom lip when I’m thinking, so that resulted in some wear too. The entire collection boasts a nice mix of pinks, nudes, reds, and plums.
Pinks: Perpetual Peony, Ultimate Blush, Pout on Pink, Fuchsia Forever, Eternal Rose
Nudes: Beige Forgood, Never Ending Nude, Consistently Truffle, Lasting Chestnut, Ceaseless Caramel
Reds: Keep Me Coral, Continuous Cranberry, Ravishing Rouge, Enduring Ruby, Timeless Crimson
Plums: Infinite Iris, Till Mauve Do Us Part, Endless Raisin, Please Stay Plum, Wine and Forever
Bottom Line: Even if the SuperStay 14HR Lipsticks didn’t last an entire 14 hours on my lips, they still wore incredibly well for up to 10 hours, which is nothing short of a miracle for me. I really like these, and I’ll be looking into additional shades from the remaining 10 that I don’t own on my next trip to CVS! This is one of the better drugstore options for long-wearing lip colors.
