Hot on the tails of collaborations with Katy Perry and Serena Williams, OPI just released a series of six new polishes inspired by ever-colorful Nicki Minaj. I never would think to put Nicki Minaj and Suzi together—but hey—shows you what I know! The hip hop icon always rocks some crazy-cool hair color and funky fashions, so it’s fitting that her collection boasts some vibrant shades.

“OPI is so excited to work with Nicki in releasing these six new nail lacquers,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “Nicki has taken the hip hop world by storm, but her music is only part of the equation. She’s also become a fashion inspiration, noted for her daring costumes and hair color both on and off the stage.”

With five nail lacquers and a brand new Shatter shade, this limited edition collection really shows off Nicki’s unique persona. Here’s the shade breakdown from OPI…

  • Pink Friday — Kick off the weekend with this pop! of bubblegum pink.
  • Metallic 4 Life — This charcoal sparkle flies with the stars in the skies.
  • Save Me — I drove for miles just to find this silver-rainbow glitter.
  • Fly — I came to win, to fight…and to wear this aqua.
  • Did It On ‘Em  — A lusty little lacquer that loves the “lime”-light.
  • Super Bass Shatter — purple Shatter with fuchsia flash

Fly, Pink Friday, Did It On ‘Em

Fly is a dreamy teal cream that achieved perfect opacity in two coats.

Pink Friday is a creamy bubblegum pink. This formula was a little bit thicker than the others, but I did achieve opacity with two coats here as well.

Did It On ‘Em is a chartreuse cream shade. It posed a little bit of a balding problem, but was worked out with a thin third coat.

Metallic 4Life contains a blend of silver hexagonal and small round glitter suspended in a black base. I found this one to be really interesting because the black base is nearly a gel-like transparent grey until you apply the second coat.

Save Me contains a rainbow of holographic bar glitter with silver round glitter in a clear base. This one doesn’t offer a lot of coverage, even with two coats.

Bottom Line: If you only pick up one from the collection, I recommend Fly! It’s the perfect teal cream that will work for both spring and summer.

I just saw these today and fell in love with the Metalic 4 Life shade, but wanted to wait until I’d seen a swatch of it. And it’s as beautiful as I thought!

Oh my goodness! I pretty much want every shade in this collection! I’m really into the bright colours for this Spring. I was comparing these shades with the China Glaze pop collection, and I for sure like the blue one better in this collection. Not sure comparing the pinks, they pretty much both look the same. Any thoughts on that? It also works because I want the yellow in the China Glaze collection, and the lime green in this one. Thanks! :D

Hey Celine! It looks like Dance Baby and Pink Friday are somewhat similar, I would just pick your fave one only grab one since they’re pretty close!

The only polish I was really interested in was “Save Me,” & I just picked it up today!

*Thanks for the amazing swatches!*
