essie is back for Spring with a new collection of six nail polishes that forecast a sunny financial outlook with Navigate Her. A few of the polish shade names would even make Suze Orman proud! Three pastels and three brights suit almost any occasion, from the softest of hues to the boldest of color statements.

“Fortune favors the bold”, says essie brand founder and global creative director Essie Weingarten. “I am so impressed by women who dream big, go with their instincts and always manage to put their best self forward.”

But will you favor essie’s female-driven fortune this spring? We tried out all six lacquers so that you can decide for yourself—which ones are keepers, and which won’t make it home with you this season?

Navigate Her, A Crewed Interest, To Buy or Not To Buy

Orange, It’s Obvious!, Olé Caliente, Tour De Finance

Swatches and shade descriptions…

A Crewed Interest is a medium peach cream. We experienced a little bit of balding with this shade, but then again—the brush was loaded up with a smaller amount of polish than usual because we weren’t sure how it would lay down at first.

Navigate Her is a delicious pistachio green cream that was perfect in just two coats, it really had a shine factor.

To Buy Or Not To Buy was just a stunning lilac that had the most faint amount of lavender shimmer. It’s hard to tell unless you’re looking at the polish in-person, but the shimmer is almost more of a ‘flash’ of purple flecks than a plain opalescent shimmer.

Tour De Finance is a brilliant fuchsia pearl. In terms of formula itself, this shade was the easiest to apply, it was perfectly dreamy in terms of flow and coverage.

Orange, It’s Obvious! is a bright orange cream that’s a perfect fit for this year’s huge Tangerine Tango trend. Instead of being more on the day-glo side, this one is definitely more on the tangerine side of the spectrum.

Olé Caliente is a scarlet cream, but nearly watermelon—which takes it out of boring red territory immediately (and into our shopping bag)!

Bottom Line: All six shades are super tasteful for the office, and for play—but something leaves us wishing that there was a little shimmer in more than just To Buy Or Not To Buy and Tour De Finance. I think the other pastels would have been so gorgeous with the added surprise of a little shimmer too!

Price & Availability: $8 each, in salons and beauty destinations nationwide
