As we started the holidays in 2011, the nail world was a-flutter with the release of a Walmart-exclusive Kardashian Kolors polish collection in 14 shades from Nicole by OPI. As we transition from winter to spring in 2012, now you’ll find an exclusive collection of seven Kardashian Kolors nail lacquer shades available at your local CVS/Pharmacy. I wonder, what will those Dash girls do next? I think they’ve pretty much done everything now…a few times over. Ya think?

Nicole by OPI is very excited to bring new Kardashian Kolor lacquers exclusively to CVS for 2012. The CVS shopper knows how to find the hottest look at the best value,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, Nicole by OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “In collaborating with the Kardashian/Jenner family on the CVS exclusive shades, we came up with lacquers to represent each of their vibrant personalities and individual styles. The seven resulting colors offer the perfect accessory for spring’s bright colors, feminine frocks and reinvented neutrals.”

Let’s check out the seven new shades…

Swatches & shade descriptions…

Paparazzi Don’t Preach is a medium peach-blush cream.

One Big Happy Fame-ily is a shimmering lavender.

Strike a Pose is a muted poppy red cream. This shade was done a few times last season too, but this one appears almost to be ‘dusty’ instead of intense.

Smile For the Glam-era is a dramatic, deep burgundy with yellow-gold micro-shimmer.

Our Fuchsia’s Lookin’ Bright is a medium fuchsia cream.

Ladies in the Limelight is a bright, nearly neon key-lime cream.

Back To Reality…TV is a dusky periwinkle with subtle pink shimmer.

Bottom Line…

While this collection isn’t overly substantial at seven shades (considering most are 12—and the last Kardashian Kolors collection had 14), there are some decent offerings within the CVS/Pharmacy-exclusives. Whether you prefer to be more demure (Paparazzi Don’t Preach, One Big Happy Fame-ily), or walk on the wild side (Ladies in the Limelight, Smile for the Glam-era), there’s diversity in a range of relevant colors for the season. Each shade had a nice flow which made application pretty easy and offered good opacity. It wasn’t hard to achieve full coverage with the creams, but I’ve noticed the Nicole by OPI formula seems to be a little more thin than the regular OPI consistency. One Big Happy Fame-ily offered the sheerest coverage of the seven, and required a thin third coat in order to be camera-ready. What a diva!

Not a fan of anything Kardashian. My value system demands that scrutiny.
