It’s been ages since I last had a proper ‘vacation’, all those road trips we take don’t count. I’m not even going to try to convince myself that 15 hours of driving is the start of a relaxing vacay! Over the years, my vacays have been more like stay-cays, and I’m over it! I yearn for some sunny and tropical location with crystal clear blue waters. I want to nap in a breezy hut, while the scent of white flowers fills the air. I’ll have to keep dreaming for a bit longer, but lucky me! Benefit recently delivered their fake-ation in a box to me, right here at home, in the form of their new Cabana Glama palette.

More photos, swatches, and details…

Cabana Glama is a pretty sweet little collection of minis and an eyeshadow trio to give you that aloha glow. It’s what I like to call, an instant des-tan-ation!

What’s inside…

  • 0.12 oz Some Kind-A Gorgeous in Medium (sheer natural beige)
  • 0.14 oz Hoola (bronzing powder with brush)
  • 0.12 oz Eyeshadow Palette in Peach Fizz (golden peach sheen), Bronze Buzz (tan sheen), Cocoa Pizzazz (warm brown sheen)
  • 0.08 oz Posietint (poppy-pink tinted lip & cheek stain)
  • Step-by-Step tutorial card

I’ve been a fan of Hoola for a long time, it’s a great matte bronzer that doesn’t shift orange—and it works well on most skin tones. The eyeshadow trio inside Cabana Glama is my favorite part, they feel super buttery and didn’t give off any fallout. The shades are flattering and universal, and they blend easily. Peach Fizz, Bronze Buzz, and Cocoa Pizzazz are perfect neutrals!

The part I was kind of confused about is the addition of the medium shade (and only the medium shade) of Some Kind-a Gorgeous Foundation Faker. It’s probably one of the darkest ‘medium’ foundation shades I’ve seen in quite a bit, and it really limits the audience for this palette. I understand that an executive decision had to made for which one was to be included—you can’t please all of the people, all the time—no doubt. But I think it would have worked better if they included a pan split into a trio; then had light, medium, and dark Some Kind-a Gorgeous Foundation Faker inside each slot. Don’t you think that would have worked better? That’s the one thing I would change if I could.

Bottom Line…

Aside from the foundation hiccup, this kit is darling. I love the eyeshadows, they’ll look great on everyone—and I think Hoola is one of the better matte bronzers on the market. The box is extra cute, you can remove the tray and keep the box to hold little photos and other tiny treasures. Mahalo, Benefit!

This is a really nice kit! I saw EmilyNoel talking about it in her video on YT last night. I’m a little stunned with the foundation though. It is darker in the swatches than the bronzer. So that would mean if you were dark enough for the foundation the bronzer would be way too light for you. No matter someone will have something they can’t use in this. Not sure this was a well thought decision on the part of Benefit. Thanks for the review though. The shadows, tint and Hoola look really nice!
