Due to overwhelming popular demand, I couldn’t wait any longer to give you the full preview of Too Faced’s summer collection! I’m starting with the most popular piece from the collection that people are already talking about—the Summer Eye Summertime Sexy Eyeshadow Palette. Too Faced has successfully launched several different varieties of nine-pan palettes; like spring’s Natural at Night, and last year’s Matte Eye. Summer Eye will likely be another blockbuster hit for Too Faced, because they’re not fixing what’s not broken. Summer Eye follows the same winning path as the previous palettes—cute and compact packaging, tutorial cards, and beautiful shades of shadow. It’s a can’t-lose formula for sure.

Shades included:

  • Sugar Sand — shimmery dusty rose
  • Peach Fuzz — shimmery golden peach
  • Sunbeam — pale gold shimmer
  • Plumeria — vivid pink pearl
  • Coral Crush — coral pink shimmer
  • Mermaid — muted teal pearl
  • Cocoa Beach — plum brown shimmer
  • Chocolate Sun — shimmery rich brown
  • Toasted Coconut — matte caramel

A closer look…

In typical Too Faced style, the quality of each eyeshadow is pretty consistent across the board. They feel super smooth to the touch and blend out nicely. The pigment payoff is pretty impressive, especially considering that I didn’t use any primer in the swatch photo. The two most fair shades, Peach Fuzz and Sunbeam aren’t really showing up on my arm because I’m so pale, but they’re really there! There’s a gorgeous iridescent glow to both of them, which you really can’t fully appreciate until you see them in-person. I think that by doing warmer versions of these punchy shades, Summer Eye dodges Rainbow Bright territory and makes them that much more wearable. These are still on-trend shades, but they’re slightly subdued, which I think will make them appealing to a wider audience.

Bottom Line…

Summer Eye didn’t disappoint me in the quality or pigment department, as I seem to consistently have good luck with Too Faced eyeshadows. If there was one thing I could change, I would lessen the glitter on the crease shades (Chocolate Sun and Cocoa Beach), then focus more on the pearl finish. Then it would be pretty close to perfect!

Being honest here, but because of your post I actually bought this instead of the other palettes first. You are totally right, it’s just amazeballs! I love the colors the directions and Too Faced in general. Thank you.

It makes me so happy to hear, Valerie! Glad it helped :) (Even if now you’re addicted to Too Faced palettes!)
