What’s New: Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara

Do you remember Urban Decay’s original Big Fatty Mascara? It came in a bright psychedelic-looking tube, and had an enormous brush. Other than being able to remember its existence, I don’t recall any memories of wearing it. I’m sure I did, but it was WAY back in my long mascara career. In line with Urban Decay’s ‘everything that’s old is new again‘ theme, Big Fatty also received a major makeover—a new brush, new tube, new formula, the whole nine yards. Check it out…

More photos and details…

I’ve been wearing Big Fatty since last week, and I have to say—it’s my favorite Urban Decay mascara by a long shot. (I really like Cannonball too.) Big Fatty is kind of like a padded bra with chicken cutlets for my eyelashes; it adds volume, slightly lengthens them, and pushes them up. Heh.

This brush is SERIOUS business! It’s even a little spiky at the tip, so you can grab the tiny lashes on the inner and outer corners of your eyes. I’m a fan of this formula—it’s a glossy jet black, it doesn’t flake, and it stays put. According to the the brand, this new Big Fatty has lash-nurturing ingredients; hemp seed oil for moisture, Vitamin E to prevent free radical damage, jojoba oil for hydration, and Purisilk SPB for conditioning and curl retention.

Bottom Line…

While I may not be able to compare the new Big Fatty to the original, I do like the volume it provides. When you look at the before and the first after shot, doesn’t it seem like it makes thick lashes appear out of thin air?

This mascara looks like something I might try. I have been trying different types of mascara to find one that I like. Most of the mascaras are dry and clumpy like, regardless of how much I pay for them or they dry out too quickly. Don’t know if I am getting a bad one or if that is how mascara is suppose to look. Thanks for your review.
