Quick Pick Under $10: Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer

I’m a big fan of creating points of light on my face. Not only does it make you look more alive, but it adds subtle contour without going too crazy on products like bronzers and highlighters. Sometimes the placement is wrong, or it’s too dark—and depending on your skin tone, you may wish to create those points of light in less obvious ways. That’s what makes products like the new Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer a real gem. It’s a very forgiving product that adds a little luminosity to the skin, but it’s so whisper soft, only you will know the secret. Everyone else will just compliment how radiant your skin looks!

These don’t really offer a lot of coverage, so if you have dark circles, it likely won’t conceal them. But what it will do, is bounce light out of shallow areas like the corners on your eyes and on the bow of your top lip. There are very soft light-diffusing pigments suspended in a lightweight gel that sheers out, like it’s creating a blanket of light bulbs on your skin.

Swatches and more details…

Top to bottom: honey, buff, beige, nude, ivory, radiant

Dream Lumi is available in six shades; five of which you can pick according to your skin tone, and one universal shade (Radiant). I know the pink in the Radiant shade looks a little intimidating, but once it’s blended it, the pink tones itself down and just makes the skin look bright. I like applying it to my brow bones and inside the corners of my eyes for brighter peepers.

I’ve been wondering about these and if they offered any sort of coverage. I don’t have super dark circles but I do like a product that can multitask. Do think this would be any good for any minor spots and redness (along the nose, mouth, etc) or should I stick with Loreal’s version of this? Great swatches, I’ve also been wondering about the colors. I hate that you can’t test these out before laying down cash.

Hey Laurie! Thanks :) I have a lot of broken capillaries around my nose, and it diffuses them pretty well! The L’Oreal version rocks too!

These are on my list! Thank you so much for the swatches :)

    Of course, Lindsay! xo

I’ve tried both the Maybelline & the L’Oreal “lumi” concealers, and in my most humblest of opinions, the L’Oreal one outperforms most of the illuminating concealers on the market today. None of the other ones conceal my under-eye circles like this one does. None of the others leave behind a smooth & undetectable swatch like this one does. It doesn’t settle into the lines around my eyes, mouth or nose. Best $13 I’ve spent in a long time. I really really love it!!

So glad the L’Oreal one works for you, Shayne! I like it too :)

I bought this concealer two weeks ago and am loving it!
I use it under my eyes and feel that is does do a good enough job at my average purplish dark circles.
I also run it down my nose and around the sides to conceal both redness and freckles. It certainly doesn’t cover the freckles, but does dim their appearance in a way that looks pretty natural and brightens my skin tone.
It’s so so hard for me to find a concealer since I’m so pale, but ivory is perfect for me and I’m so glad that I picked this up!

Awesome, Alyza! I’m so glad you found such a great bargain in this. The right concealer can be a pricey nightmare to find!
