Review: Dream Water All-Natural Sleep & Relaxation Shot

I am one of 70 million Americans who can’t sleep. And when I do sleep, it certainly isn’t restful sleep. I feel like I hardly ever reach that happy place where I have peaceful dreams, and I rarely wake up feeling refreshed. I’m just going to be frank with you.

It sucks.

Yes, it’s me you see on Twitter at two in the morning on most nights, complaining yet again that I have #insomnia. And I’m also the girl you receive emails from that you look at the time stamp on and think to yourself, “WHAT is she on, and WHEN does she sleep?”

I’ve been under a doctor’s care for sleep issues for years, and we’ve tried everything that’s legal. I go into these sleep-deprived cycles that are just maddening, and I can’t tell you how grumpy and irritable my lack of sleep makes me. As if the toll it takes on my mental well-being isn’t enough, I honestly feel like it’s physically AGING me. As in, my skin shows that I don’t sleep sometimes, my eyes give it all away, and it’s depressing. One night, I was tweeting away about my #insomnia, and I reached out to Dream Water. I’m pretty sure I told them I was at the end of my rope, and they were kind enough to send me six bottles of their all-natural sleep and relaxation shot. I gave them a test run, and I wanted to share how it went. Maybe this isn’t overly beauty-related…but we do need our beauty sleep, right?

The drink itself is 2.5 FL oz. and is calorie free. According to Dream Water, the product is all natural, has no preservatives, and contains three natural active ingredients; GABA, Melatonin, and 5-HTP. The last is an amino acid complex that mimics the effects of the Tryptophan-turkey coma that you usually go into after Thanksgiving dinner. Sounds good to me! Turkey works like a charm for me, the bad part is—we only make one (okay, have catered) once a year!

I drank Dream Water in the Snoozeberry flavor on five consecutive nights, about 30 minutes before I headed off to bed. The sixth was consumed by a curious husband, who wanted to see what all of my fussing was about. And truthfully, on those five nights, I was able to lay in bed without being restless, and go to sleep. Nothing more, nothing less. The same thing happened for my husband, who woke up the next morning and said something to the effect of “Wow, that actually worked.”

I’ve come across a few products similar to Dream Water, and as much as I want to continue to drink beverages like these on a regular basis—for me, it’s not financially practical. However, if I am having the extreme difficulty getting even the bare minimum amount of slumber like I have lately, I will definitely reach for Dream Water again! I actually hunted them down at my CVS yesterday and purchased four emergency-reserve bottles for those nights where I just can’t deal.

Dream Water is available in three flavors; Snoozeberry, Lullaby Lemon, and Pineapple PM. I’ve only tried the berry, and it tasted similar to an energy shot. I will buy again!

Bottom Line…

I’m not a doctor or medical professional, and this review doesn’t take the place of any medical advice. I make no promises or claims that you’ll experience a similar result. With that out of the way, I feel that Dream Water made better sleep possible on nights where I otherwise had no hope. I still woke up early like usual, but the big difference was actually getting to sleep and FINALLY catching some shut-eye!

Price & Availability…

I paid $6.29 for a pack of two at my CVS, but I believe if you buy them on drinkdreamwater.com, they’re much more economical.

Just thought I’d share this piece of advice with you for what really helps me. Mind you, I don’t have insomnia but I have my fair share of nights more than I’d like to admit where I’m tossing and turning all night. You should go to The Body Shop and pick up their “Comforting milk bath float” It’s got Jujube and camomile oils which we all know really helps to relax you. I was skeptical at first to think that a bath soak could actually relax your body, but wow…it did wonders! I couldn’t believe it! I actually feel ready for bed afyer using it lol Now, I’m not saying it’s going to put you in a deep slumber like these drinks would, but it for sure helps to really relax your body. The line also comes with the same oil to put on pulse points or spray for your pillow. Next, I want to try the pulse point oil. Hope this helps!

Hey Celine, great advice! I actually bought the pulse point oil from them a few years ago, and it did kind of relax me. I’m a big believer in aromatherapy! xo

I really hope it works for you, Carrie. Because I know how miserable it can make you feel!
