Neons are scorching red hot this season, and it’s look that will take us through summer. As a result, I’m digging up anything I can find that’s even remotely neon, because I love it so much! Recently, I learned about the Light Brights Collection from Three Custom Color Specialists. For those of you not familiar with Three Custom Color, you’ve got to check them out. They specialize in custom blending, so if you’ve ever had your heart broken by a lipstick that’s been discontinued—look to the color experts at 3CC to reproduce those colors for you, or they can help you create your own unique shade!

These bright shades brought back fond memories of DayGlo fashion in the late 80′s when we all first met—dancing the night away at Area, Danceteria, Limelight and Palladium to Dee Lite with the likes of Ru Paul, Michael Musto, Dianne Brill, Leigh Bowery, Suzanne Bartsch and fashion designer Zaldy. –Three Custom Color

Let’s check out the four shades:

  • Area — sheer juicy tangerine
  • Danceteria — sheer flirty coral
  • Palladium –  sheer fuchsia
  • Limelight — sheer pinky-peach

Danceteria

Limelight

Palladium

While these are surprisingly sheer, they are buildable to intensify the color. There’s no discernible fragrance or flavor in these, but they are oh-so-very hydrating! I spy grapeseed, jojoba, and avocado oils in the formula, along with shea butter for maximum hydration. These make my lips feel incredibly moist and comfortable, and they wear as long as most other lip balms. Even though these are candelilla wax-based, my lips feel more creamy than waxy, and there’s no stickiness for me whatsoever. They glide across my lips with ease.

Bottom Line…

Danceteria is my favorite color! If there was one thing I could change, I would bring the price down a little bit if possible. If your lips are impossibly dry (and you like a flash of color), these should be a good fit for you.

I would use it as a base for my lipstick. Great pigment!

These look yummy Amber! A nice pop of color without looking day-glo, so shiny too–love ‘em!

I love the way these translate on! Not too pigmented but reference the neon trend perfectly.

@Lindsay, I thought the same thing, girlfriend!

Aww, I’m bummed they’re not as bright as they are in the tube. Though I’m sure way more wearable.
