Another summer, and no real ‘fun-in-the-sun’ vacation for Mr. Beauty Junkies and me in sight! So what I’m going to do instead, is continue to bring you some bright and sunny collections—even if I have some gorgeous new fall ones screaming my name for attention over here. I’ll try to mix it up a bit though, how does that sound?
This collection from bareMinerals gives me a little bit of a vacation-feel, the Wanderlust Tropics Collection. While this is a 6-piece color collection, I am missing two of the pieces. It’s because this is an editorial sample, so no worries! Yours from Sephora should be A-OKAY!

Wild Orchid Eyecolor, Tropical Radiance All-Over Face Color
Wild Orchid Eyecolor
This is an absolutely captivating eyecolor. If you have even the slightest hint of green in your eyes, it will really make them come alive! This was a little bold in my crease, even though it blends beautifully like the other loose bareMinerals eyeshadows. So what I opted to do, was wear this as a liner (slightly wet, with a liner brush). This does have a very fine glimmer to it, so if you look for more mattes, this might not be for you. My set was missing its liner, so it was pretty convenient for me! I wore the Prime Time Primer Shadow in Coral Reef as my actual shadow, and they paired up just perfectly.
Tropical Radiance All-Over Face Color
What a gorgeous warm face color, right? I wore this as a blush with no problem, and didn’t find it to be too glittery or shimmery in any way. It can be used as a shadow, along the bridge of your nose for a little warmth, and you can also pop a little bit into your lipgloss, so it’s a versatile piece!
Prime Time Primer Shadow in Coral Reef
This product is AMAZING. I’m the person with hooded lids that most primers don’t stand a chance against. Not so with the Prime Time Primer Shadows! I love that this is a slightly warm apricot (but not too warm), and still looks good on cooler complexions. In fact, that was probably my biggest A-HA! moment about the Wanderlust Tropics Collection. All skin tones should look great with this color configuration. If you told me it didn’t work out for you, I would honestly be surprised!
Dual-end lip gloss has brush applicator
Okay, my lovely ladies of BE. This is coming from a place of love; but the brushes on both of the glosses are having an identity crisis. It’s a little frustrating, considering I don’t have a problem like this with my individual, full-size shades of Natural Lipgloss. So this component might need some tweaking. It could even be the lip of the tube that’s bending the bristles—and not the brush itself. Just something to think about!
The glosses themselves are great. I have to say that my favorite shade is definitely the Pink Guava, it didn’t feel too gummy either. I went to a meeting, spoke for over an hour, and had a beverage and snack. Then, I walked out and looked in my rear-view mirror in the car when I got in, and I STILL had pink gloss on. For people who don’t have very pigmented lips, the Papaya Smoothie could look a little pale and frosty. Just something to think about!
Swatches…
Swatches left to right: Wild Orchid, Tropical Radiance, Coral Reef, Pink Guava, Papaya Smoothie
Tropical Radiance as blush, Wild Orchid Eyecolor as eyeliner, Prime Time in Coral Reef as eyeshadow, Natural Lipgloss in Pink Guava w/ Papaya Smoothie in center of bottom lip.
Bottom Line…
We all know that I’m a long-time BE fan in general, so it’s very rare that something doesn’t make me happy. (Especially if it’s a color collection.) So far, of all the Wanderlust collections (there are three others which I’ll cover soon), I have to say that Tropics lured me in its direction the hardest. If my biggest complaint however, is that the bristles on the lipglosses go a little wayward—we’re in pretty good shape! I dig that the fabric on the cosmetic bag is covered, that way I can wipe off all of the makeup smudges I am sure to get on it!
