Spotlight: Willa Naturals Skincare

What were you doing when you were a pre-teen? I know one thing for sure—I definitely wasn’t creating a skincare line with my mother! Christy Prunier and her daughter, Willa, have done just that. This mother-daughter team collaborated on Willa, a new collection of skincare products created to address the needs of young girls. Prunier had an a-ha moment three years ago, when giving Willa (then seven) a bath, and that evolved into collection of 17 naturally-based skincare products.

Prunier says, “I was washing her with the same soap I used on her little sister when Willa said, ‘Why do I have to use babyish products? Isn’t there something for girls like me?’”

Now, before you go thinking that this line is all kid stuff—Daily Candy called the Willa Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 30 among the best they’ve ever used, and Refinery 29 is a fan of Willa’s Born to Glow SPF 15 shimmer body lotion. That’s some serious street cred! Me? I’m a fan of Willa’s Start Fresh Foaming Facial Wash and the On The Go lavender face towelettes. They leave my face feeling fresh and squeaky clean, without any tightness or drying.

Willa had her say during the product development days, where she helped test and tweak formulas, and looked to her friends for feedback. Pretty impressive for a pre-teen, right? You’ll find the line at select Target locations and J.Crew’s Crewcuts, with prices ranging from $7.50 to $17.50. When was the last time you said that your facial cleanser partially conceived by a 10 year-old? I’m pretty impressed!
