I love a good sneak peek, don’t you? Well lookie here…I just happen to have one for fall from Urban Decay, it’s their new Smoked palette. Smoked takes a breather from all the naked-ness that’s been going on over the past two years, and it seems like a nice change of pace.

What’s inside:

  • Ten eyeshadows
  • Full size 24/7 Glide-On Pencil in Perversion (matte carbon black)
  • Deluxe travel size Eyeshadow Primer Potion
  • 29 page step-by-step ‘Get the Look’ book

  • Asphalt* — deep gun metal w/silver micro-glitter and metallic base
  • Backdoor* — true dark brown w/matte finish
  • Barlust* — dark golden brown w/metallic finish
  • Blackout — blackest black w/matte finish
  • Freestyle* — light nude w/matte finish
  • Kinky* — soft ivory peach w/matte finish
  • Loaded — deep emerald shimmer w/metallic base
  • Mushroom — warm grey w/shimmer finish
  • Rockstar — deep aubergine w/shimmer finish
  • Evidence — deep navy blue w/shimmer finish

* denotes an exclusive shade to the Smoked palette

The palette is housed in a zip-around clutch that seems pretty durable. I like the textured-vinyl feel of the clutch, it seems like it will be easy to wipe makeup smudges off of. The clutch also includes a large mirror, which is always a welcome feature when it comes to shadow palettes.

Also included is a 29-page ‘Get the Look‘ book, with step by step instructions for 14 different smoky eye looks.

24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion, and deluxe travel size Eyeshadow Primer Potion

Swatches…

Top to Bottom: Asphalt, Loaded, Evidence, Rockstar, Barlust

Top to bottom: Blackout, Backdoor, Mushroom, Freestyle, Kinky

Perversion

I like this spin on the classic smoky-eye. It’s not something I can do all the time. I’m curious to know how this will stack up to the NAKED palette in terms of popularity, and if Smoked will catch on just as quickly.

Price & Availability…

Early July—$49; urbandecay.com, sephora,com, ULTA, and select Macy’s locations

Yay! So glad they gave their “naked” tag a rest when it comes to shadows. Although we are getting a new “naked” line of foundations.

I’m a smokey eye fanatic so I can’t wait to try this one! Thanks for the sneak peek!

    Want this RIGHT now!  :)

p.s. you left off evidence from your list of the shades…I only noticed because it’s my favorite!  haha.

Thank you! I was so excited, see!

This reminds me too much of their “Dark” Palette they did a few years ago.

Wow! I’m really loving this palette! But I have to admit that I don’t usually do smokey eyes.

Eh, while the color payoff is really good, I’m not sure it’s something I’ll be anticipating. I really like the Naked 2 palette and while the addition of Perversion and new packaging is tempting, it’s not enough to make me want it the way I wanted the Naked 2 palette.

Too many dark shades in this one. I have the 2 Naked collections – love the first one – not so much the 2nd.  But UD eyeshadows are my fav – I just cannot get over the loss of they taken out so many of the individual matte shades. They were my go to fav of all time shadows.

I am a total UD junkie and if it’s a palette, I need it. So I cannot wait for this to hit the stores!!

I love the idea, but not the zipper packaging. And while there are some “new” shade, they look fairly similar to the shades in the Naked 1 and 2 palettes (close enough that I don’t need extra?).

i may or may not get this. when i saw it was called the smoked palette, i thought ohh this is gonna have lots of dark shades. then when i saw the pic i thought, huh? its like browns and colors, and what makes this smoked? you can apply any eyeshadow in a smoked way. i make smokey eyes with my naked 2 palette all the time. and do i really wanna spend $49 on this? i mean, itll probably be a good product, dont get me wrong. and it has the eyeliner and primer in there. but im not decided yet on whether ill be buying this, personally.
