Earlier in the year, L’Oreal released 12 shades of their new 24HR Infallible Eyeshadow, you’ll find a review of six of those existing shades here. Similar to Giorgio Armani’s Eyes To Kill, these are multi-dimensional and long wearing eyeshadows that pack some pretty intense pigmentation in a small jar. Even better, I’ve found that the product really stays put!
New in July, you’ll find an additional six shades added to the collection, so let’s take a closer look to see if these match the quality of the existing 24HR Infallible Eyeshadows.

I still think that applying these with a finger or a sponge applicator is best. Since these are only loosely packed (not pressed like traditional eyeshadow, nor are they loose), I find that they start to crumble on a dry brush and give some fallout. They did work well for me however, with a dampened synthetic shadow brush, but looked slightly foiled. Just like my previous warning, fight the urge to dig into the product—you really only need to lightly swipe across the top. Make sure not to throw away the little pressing tool piece that you’ll find inside when you open it. You’re supposed to use it to pack the shadow back down after use.
The 6 new shades:
- Smoldering Plum
- Golden Emerald
- Liquid Diamond
- Glistening Garnet
- Endless Sea
- Bottomless Java
#996 Liquid Diamond
#556 Smoldering Plum
#335 Golden Emerald
#557 Glistening Garnet
#337 Endless Sea
#800 Bottomless Java
Can I please just tell you, how in LOVE I am with these new shades? L’Oreal knocked it out of the park with these colors, you’ve got to admit! They’re all gorgeous, but Golden Emerald, Liquid Diamond, and Endless Sea are just exquisite to me. They’re all very velvety to the touch, and like the previous shades, I had no trouble with them. I didn’t wear any of these for 24 hours, but if running around when it’s 90 degrees in L.A. doesn’t stop these from performing—I don’t know what will.
Swatches…
Top to bottom: Smoldering Plum, Bottomless Java, Golden Emerald, Glistening Garnet, Endless Sea, Liquid Diamond
These swatches are crazy! I used a dry sponge applicator, without primer in the photo—and that’s the result. Still don’t believe they’re long-wearing? Get this! I used an oil cleanser first to wash my arm, and then hot, soapy water to remove. This is what was left:
It was mostly Smoldering Plum and Bottomless Java that stuck around, but that’s still some staying power in my book. And don’t worry—it came off the next morning in the shower. They did come off of my eyelids with an oil-based remover, and I’m guessing it’s due to the amount oil that breaks through on them during the day.
Bottom Line…
These actually score half a star higher than their predecessors! These shades are just so amazing, and the performance remains consistent, so I really think they deserve the bump up. I’ve worn a few of these without primer, and they really didn’t move around—I’m loving them.
