Have you ever had one of those mornings, where when your alarm clock goes off, and you start bargaining with yourself just so you can hit the snooze button for a few more minutes? I know I have.

“I just won’t eat breakfast this morning!”

Hit the snooze button.

“I just won’t blow dry my hair!”

Hit the snooze button again.

“Okay, so I won’t wash my hair!”

Begrudgingly wake up because the thought of going to work with greasy hair drives you insane.

Does this sound familiar? A dry shampoo can help out on those days you decide to skip an epic shampoo-blowout session. I love them because they’re also fantastic at creating volume in the hair. So if you’ve gone flat, try a little dry shampoo to get some oomph-factor back. And some experts even agree that washing your hair every day isn’t a good idea anyway. So go ahead and hit your snooze button—here are three of the hottest new dry shampoos, they’re literally time in a bottle!

Privé Volumizing Dry Shampoo

Prive was my favorite at creating volume in my hair and made it smell incredible! I’m also a fan of how Privé enriched the formula with green tea, soy, and ginko biloba—which help provide healing benefits to the hair. I’ve even been known to use this on a fresh blowout, to create texture and volume when my hair is looking a little too flat. This one is a fine-haired girl’s best friend. —$29, priveproducts.com

Dove Hair Therapy Refresh+Care Invigorating Dry Shampoo

New from Dove, and at under $4, this one is literally a bargain! The freshly scented formula doesn’t just make your hair look fresh, but makes it smell fresh too. (It smells exactly like the Dove Damage Therapy collection of shampoos and conditioners.) If you’ve always wanted to try a dry shampoo, but the price tags scare you away—this is a great one to start out with. —about $3.76, drugstores

Redken Powder Refresh 01

What I like best about Powder Refresh, is that I can’t see any film left on my hair. It’s common to have a little cast to the hair after using a dry shampoo, I guess that’s the price we pay for hitting the snooze button! It’s another one that smells great—but I thought this was unique—it smells like peppermint. I’d recommend this one for dark-haired babes. —$18, salons

Thanks for this review! I do use dry shampoo and currently using batiste original, it works okay but does not quite deliver for me… I am not a fan of the scent. I am def going to try the Dove! ^_^

  • Rozae

I’ve been looking for another dry shampoo, I cracked up hard about the snooze button, sounds like my everyday morning routine! I’ve tried Dove and although it works, for some reason you only get a few uses outta it. Prive sounds promising but for near $30 I’ll pass. Will try Redkin once I finish my current bottle, ‘
Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo’, which works pretty good for my brunette hair.

I know, it is kind of ridiculous how expensive some of these dry shampoos can me. Thanks for the Dove tip, and I will definitely check out NYM’s dry shampoo!

I do apply in sections, and hold about 3-6 inches away frm my hair, with the nozzle concentrated at my roots. I usually give a few minutes for the powders to absorb the oils, and then shake it all out with my head upside down before styling. Hope that helps! xo
