Sneak Preview & Swatches: Urban Decay ‘The Vice Palette’ Eyeshadows for Holiday 2012

Late yesterday afternoon, my world got rocked by this new palette that’s on the way from Urban Decay! I’ve had it less than 24 hours, so I haven’t had time to play around with the new eyeshadows too much or wear them—so this won’t be a full review. However, since it’s set to go up for purchase on tomorrow (and in stores around 9/27), I HAD to show you photos, details, and swatches that will hopefully aid you in a purchase decision. It’s called The Vice Palette, and here’s a closer look!

Urban Decay The Vice Palette

The Vice Palette contains 20 new (yes, NEW!), never seen before Urban Decay eyeshadow colors that can’t be found anywhere else. There are shimmers, satins, mattes, brights, neutrals, you name it, and it’s in this palette! The 20 shadows are housed in a purple soft-touch case that contains a large mirror, and also comes with a double-ended Good Karma Shadow and Crease Brush. This palette will retail for $59, and get this—that’s $2.95 an eyeshadow—NOT INCLUDING the Good Karma brush or swanky snap closure palette!

Press the ‘Urban Decay’ button, and wah-lah! Your palette will open. I love the raised ‘UD’ jewel on the top, it reminds me of the one on the 15th Anniversary Palette.

Actually, the Anniversary palette has the reformulation, as well.

  • Amber

Hi Amy! Thanks for bringing that to my attention! I was initially informed by the brand that the first palette introduced with the new formula was NAKED2, so that’s interesting to hear. Perhaps I misunderstood at the time. I will try to clarify with them next week and will follow up here to this comment if I receive a response!

    Hey Amy (& everyone!)

You are absolutely right! I have driven myself absolutely nuts swatching my Anniversary palette against the new formulation texture, and honestly I don’t think they feel the same–but I’ve been corrected by both you AND Urban Decay. So thank you very much for clearing up this misconception. Initially I was informed it was NAKED2 that was the first palette with the new eyeshadow formulation, but it seems I misunderstood the information–and it’s totally my fault.

    From Urban Decay:
Our 15th Anniversary Palette does contain our new formulation. Let me know if you need any other information. Hope that helps, thank you!

To clear up my misunderstanding regarding the formulation, Aurora, the formulation is the same. The shades are new. I could see where the shades look similar though. When you have as many shades as Urban Decay does and as many palettes–some of them do start to look like dupes!

Oh I must have this. Look at all the pretty colors it has! A girl can never have too much make up.
