Review & Swatches: OPI ‘Pink of Hearts’ Collection for October 2012 — ‘I Think in Pink’ & ‘You Glitter Be Good to Me’

OPI announces the launch of its sixth annual limited edition Pink of Hearts promotion, featuring the classic pale pink shade, I Think in Pink and the new sparkle-packed hue, You Glitter Be Good to Me.

“Organizations like Susan G. Komen and Rethink Breast Cancer offer hope to everyone whose lives have been touched by breast cancer, and OPI is proud to aid these organizations’ global effort in eliminating this disease,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “Breast cancer afflicts millions of women worldwide, and Pink of Hearts is OPI’s way of creating new visibility to honor those who have valiantly battled breast cancer, and support those who continue to fight.”

This duo pack is designed to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research and support. In 2012, OPI will donate $25,000 in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. OPI will also donate $5,000 to Rethink Breast Cancer in Canada.

Pink of Hearts 2012 includes two shades sold in one pack:

  • I Think in Pink — classic creamy pale pink (opaque in two coats, pre-existing shade)
  • You Glitter Be Good to Me — micro pink & magenta glitters in a clear base (new shade for Pink of Hearts 2012)

Both shades are gorgeous enough to wear on their own, but I love layering them like in the final swatch!

Beautiful together, or separately! Love that glitter, and of course love the cause! Hits home for many. I’ll definitely be supporting.

The glitter is fun! And I don’t know how I could have missed I Think in Pink the first time around. I want to say it was a SoftShade–but don’t quote me on that. I probably did have it and just cannot remember! (My memory in my older age…LOL)

Im loving these. I have looked EVERYWHERE for the ORLY BCA polishes….no luck. I buy pink products so my daughter will not have to go through what I have. Great review ….as always! xo

  • Amber

Aww Ter, that breaks my heart! I’m always thinking of you! xoxo

I buy many products that support this cause too. I’ll buy these :) I lost my mom to this at a young age…I feel good supporting research for a cure.

You can always soak some cotton balls in acetone, and place them on your nails, then wrap your fingertips in tinfoil for just a few minutes. It loosens it immensely!

The one problem I’ve found with that though, is sometimes the acetone ends up burning my fingertips. I suggest saturating a cotton pad/round with acetone, then wiping the nail in a downwards motion several times. It might even take more than one cotton piece per nail. That way the glitter goes down the nail instead of all over your cuticles and fingers, thus making a mess :)

I’m SO sorry to hear that, Valerie! I just can’t even imagine what that feels like. My heart goes out to everyone affected!
