With 10 neon variations of nail decals inspired by the Dia de los Muertos skull, OPI is getting So So Skullicious this Halloween with their seasonal mini lacquer set! Halloween 2012′s set contains four bright minis in pink, orange, black, and yellow—each weighing in at 1/8 of an ounce each. When it comes to seasonal sets like these, I’m totally okay with the smaller bottles. They’re just enough product to play around with for a few mani’s and pedi’s for the season, and for sharing with my friends in little polish swaps.
“Rather than simply be spooky this Halloween, OPI has created colors that are full of life,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “So So Skullicious features vivid colors and fun nail decals that offer the perfect way to get festive for the holiday, whether you’re looking for a little way to show Halloween spirit, or planning to get decked out from head to nails and toes!”

On a side note: With the mini bottles, the brushes still have the standard OPI tip, but they’re definitely much smaller, so it takes a little more effort to coat the entire nail.

A-Rose From The Dead, Hi, Pumpkin!
Candlelight, Mourning Glory
So So Skullicious Nail Decals
Mourning Glory is a black creme that was thin and a little watery upon the first coat, but two coats were fine.
A-Rose From The Dead is a hot pink creme that has a nice flow and great coverage. No issues with this shade at all!
Hi, Pumpkin! is a jack-o-lantern orange creme that has a slightly dusty quality to it. I have a feeling this would have had a better flow, if only my brush wasn’t a little wonky. Some of the bristles were wayward which made it a little difficult to work with. (I want to mention that there were no issues with the brushes on any of the other shades.)
Candlelight is a bright flame yellow creme. This is such a pretty yellow to me, but it had a little trouble with balding after two coats in a few spots, and required a thin third to even it all out. Aside from that, all was well.
Bottom Line…
This set is adorable! I like the theme, it’s a nice departure from the regular ghosts, black cats, and spiderwebs we usually get in collections for Halloween. The addition of the neons with the Dia de los Muertos masks/skulls decals makes these fun and flashy.
