Review & Swatches: essie Stylenomics Collection for Fall 2012

New for fall from essie, meet the Stylenomics collection! Women play a major role in the current economic climate, and Stylenomics was inspired by take-charge women in tough times like these. With six classic creme shades, these new polishes are an easy, quick, and inexpensive way to update your look for the season. I think nails are the best accessory a gal can have. So why not play them up?

“I absolutely love hearing from women about how essie color makes them feel,” essie founder, Essie Weingarten explains. “And when they tell me it made them feel powerful and poised in a business meeting, to me, that’s just the best!” Her own storied rise to the top of the nail color world began at a time when the fashion & beauty world was populated mostly by men. “Now, I get such a thrill from rubbing elbows with more fabulous women than ever. I created this collection with those can-do women in mind!”

Miss Fancy Pants, Don’t Sweater It, Stylenomics

Recessionista, Head Mistress, Skirting the Issue

See swatches and details…

Miss Fancy Pants is a cool, chic greige shade that’s opaque after two coats.

Don’t Sweater It is a dusty mauve that had a tiny bit of balding after two coats. Such a gorgeous shade!

Stylenomics is a deep green that resembles the darkest green on U.S. currency, which goes along with the economics/Stylenomics theme. This is my fave of the bunch! It was nearly completely opaque after one coat, but I used two in the swatches.

Recessionista is a deep magenta creme, and two coats were perfect.

Head Mistress is a bold red creme. I thought the flow on this one was a little different when compared to the others in the collection—it seems a little thinner. Luckily, two coats gave complete coverage.

Skirting the Issue is a nearly vampy burgundy creme. This consistency was definitely thinner than the rest, and I experienced a little balding with the shade, which required a thin third coat.

What are your top picks from the essie Stylenomics collection?

Bottom Line…

Some of these shades seem to be easily dupable, but I definitely recommend Stylenomics and Miss Fancy Pants. Both shades had a great flow, and are perfectly on-trend for the fall season.
