When I was little I distinctly remember my mom sitting me on the edge of the bathtub and spraying hair detangler into my messy mane in hopes of getting a comb through it. I cringe just thinking about it. So when I saw Leonor Greyl Lait Luminescence Bi-Phase I immediately had flashbacks to those days on the edge of the bathtub.
Lait Luminesence Bi-Phase is a milky hair detangler that promises to not only help you get a comb through your hair, but to also make it shinier, more manageable and add extra protection. In addition to using this as a hair detangler, it can also double as a sun or heat styling protectant.
After my typical shampoo and conditioning routine, I applied this to towel-dried hair. It recommends only using small amounts so I did one or two pumps on each section of my hair, totaling 10 pumps. To give you an idea, I have very coarse, long hair (about 16-18 inches long) and felt like it was adequately covered. I followed up with wide-toothed comb and hit zero snags along the way. To test the product even more, I took my husband’s fine-toothed comb. I cringed just looking at it—I would only do this for the sake of a product test! And amazingly hit no tangles as I took it from roots to ends.
I don’t blow dry my hair 90% of the time, but I did for the sake of this product test. I can say I didn’t notice my hair to be more manageable than usual or shinier, but I did notice it was much smoother.
While milk is a main ingredient in this product, I think it is good to point out what isn’t on the ingredients list: no parabens, no sulfates, no silicone, and no alcohol. And double bonus points for not being tested on animals either. I liked using this on my towel-dried hair as suggested, but sometimes I’d add a spritz or two to my dry hair, and it’s smoothness and shine benefits were much more apparent.
(Editor’s note: Dilara and I have two completely different hair textures, and mine is super fine with tons of fly-aways. I thought this did a good job of not weighing my hair down—but still made it feel smooth! –Amber)
All in all, this is a great product if you have tangles that need tamed.
