What a fab week that went by way too fast! I didn’t get nearly as much accomplished as I had hoped to, but I’ve been wanting to introduce some brands on the site that are new to me for a long time. I had the chance to learn about Jouer this week—so at least I accomplished SOMETHING. If you haven’t heard of the brand yet, you will likely become more familiar with it in late 2012-2013. I predict big things for them, and they’re onto something with their beautiful prestige products that don’t take a makeup artist’s skillset to apply (and look gorgeous on the skin). I’m also trying to familiarize myself with other new-ish (to me) brands of all price points so I can start introducing them to you. Have a beautiful week, gorgeous!
Question of the Week: What beauty product would you immediately hoard if you found out that it was going to be discontinued?
Answer: This is a new discovery for me, but I would be absolutely DEVASTATED if Lucas’ Papaw Ointment was discontinued. A long time ago, I interviewed Whitney Port, and she told me it was something I’d always find in her makeup bag. A few months later, my pal Romy and I met Whitney, and we asked Whitney to show it to us. We were so captivated by the simplicity and efficacy of this product! It’s from Australia, and it’s kind of like their all-in-one product. Think Vaseline, but better—and has fermented papaya in it. Romy was so sweet and surprised me by ordering a tube for me from down under, and now I’m obsessed with it. My lips have never been happier, and I’ve already ordered more from Australia because I never want to be without it.
