I’m getting into a festive holiday mood already, and I honestly feel like holiday collections came rolling in incredibly early this year—which totally is contributing to all of my fa-la-la-la-la’s! (Can you say—let’s do Halloween first, Amber?) As you can imagine, I’m having so much fun experimenting with and wearing all of these dazzling shades of nail color coming across my desk. One of the newest in holiday collections is from Nicole by OPI. Officially in stores in November, you’ll find six new shades that make up the Kardashian Kolor Holiday Collection for 2012.
“Whether celebrating the holidays traditionally at home with the entire family or jet-setting the season away, the Kardashians spread cheer with glitz and glamour, starting with their nails!” declares Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, Nicole by OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “The six captivating Kardashian Kolor Holiday shades offer the perfect way to add lots of color to this joyous time of year. Wear vibrant red, purple and teal for a jewel-toned look, or glittery gold, silver, and blue glitter for a classic holiday sparkle – both important trends for the season.”
Kardashing Through the Snow, Deck the Dolls, A Gold Winter’s Night
Three shades are jewel tones, and three are glitters. I found all of the glitters to be interchangeable with the jewel colors, so you can mix and match any of them to create a unique combination of colors and finishes.

Swatches…
Deck the Dolls is a shimmering metallic teal. This one was a three-coater for completely opaque coverage, but still looked okay with two. (It all depends how much you want to amp the color up.) What really made it come alive though, was top coat. Once top coat hit it, it really started to shimmer, and the true beauty came through.
Keeping Up With Santa is a shimmering metallic crimson red. It’s a pretty traditional holiday red (and likely easily dupable), put pretty nonetheless! If you are interested in the oxblood red nail trend, this could borderline on that for you. I could have gotten away with one coat on this one, the flow and coverage is perfect.
Here We Kome a-Karoling is a deep amethyst metallic shimmer with a glimmering plum finish. Such a stunner! As shown, it’s two coats—but a third probably wouldn’t hurt for complete opacity.
All is Glam, All is Bright was my personal favorite from the collection. This phenomenal glitter covers completely in two coats, and really twinkles with micro-diamond glitter in rose (but almost red) and silver. I was expecting this to feel pretty jagged on my nails, but after it dried (with top coat), it was only slightly raised—and not overly abrasive.
A Gold Winter’s Night is a multi-glitter formula in a transparent base. It contains gold and teal bar/tinsel glitter with a pretty mix of round rose micro-glitter which is actually a really pretty combination! On naked nails, the rose glitter lends a little pink glaze-effect to the base.
Kardashing Through the Snow is a traditional holiday glitter that’s probably best as a top coat on your holiday colors. It contains silver, red, green, gold, and blue small round glitter. It has a little more “twinkle” factor than a flat glitter in the right lighting.
