Here’s a shocking hue for you!

Time to check out this glam little baby, from bareMinerals. Simply Irresistible is a gilded nine-piece color collection for eyes, lips, and cheeks that arrives in a gold keepsake box. At $49, it’s not a bad deal—considering these are full-size products. Let’s take a peek!

bareMinerals ‘Simply Irresistible’ Collection

First, I need you to open your mind to that hot pink blush/cheek tint (Charm). Pretty please? I promise it’s not anywhere near as scary as it looks in the jar, as long as you don’t go to town with it! Now that that’s out of the way, here’s what you’ll get with Simply Irresistible

What’s included:

  • Queen Phyllis Eyecolor — pale buttercup shimmer
  • Posh Eyecolor — sparkling carbon
  • Heiroom Eyecolor — green/grey shimmer
  • Charm Cheek Tint — bright candy heart pink
  • Secret Radiance All-Over Face Color — darkened champagne shimmer
  • Pink Marzipan 100% Natural Lipgloss — sparkling sheer magenta
  • Around the Clock Waterproof Eyeliner in Blackout (n0t pictured) — deep black

As always, I’m impressed with the quality of the eyeshadows, but Posh left me wanting more in the sparkle department. Once it was applied, I couldn’t see all of those gorgeous, fine golden flecks very easily. I did like Posh as a liner however, and Queen Phyllis with Heirloom creates a subtle smoky eye. This combo also seems to bring out the gold in my hazel eyes, which is never a bad thing. bareMinerals eyeshadows almost always stay put for me, as long as I’m wearing primer. Once the shadows warm up while blending them in, it’s almost like they become one with my skin. They typically don’t crease on me and rarely fade. These shades were no exception.

Pink Marzipan 100% Natural Lipgloss

 Pink Marzipan 100% Natural Lipgloss

The 100% Natural Lipgloss in Pink Marzipan was a good choice in the lip department—it seems to complement the cheek color without trying to overpower it. That would be a hot mess, otherwise. Pink Marzipan is a shimmering sheer magenta, so it doesn’t have a lot of color payoff. It leaves a hint of pink and a ton of shine behind, however. Have you tried this gloss formula from bareMinerals yet? It feels more buttery on my lips than BUXOM and Marvelous Moxie, but still has that right amount of tack to it to stay put. It’s not particularly long-wearing, but it doesn’t pull an immediate disappearing act, either.

bareMinerals Flawless Definition Curl & Lengthen Mascara

Also included is an Around the Clock Waterproof Eyeliner in Blackout (intense black—not pictured), and the Flawless Definition Curl & Lengthen Mascara (black). I seem to like the original Flawless Definition Mascara a little bit better than this version—but it’s not that there’s anything really wrong with Curl & Lengthen. I find that it does give me some flirty length, but curl…just a little bit. I didn’t have any problems with flaking or smudging—so it makes the grade.

Charm Cheek Tint

Now here comes the fun part. What were your thoughts when you first saw this shocking pink cheek color? I actually exclaimed, “YES!” when I opened the lid. This formula is a new-ish one for bareMinerals (it’s been around for approximately a year), and it’s my first time trying it out. It’s called a Cheek Tint, and it actually wears like a stain once you blend it in. It just seems to morph into my skin, softening up the color, and giving my cheeks a rosy glow. It seriously only takes a little product, so tap those brushes, ladies! Charm is a candy pink shade, but I think you’ll find it warms nicely when you apply the next product over it, Secret Radiance All-Over Face Color.

Secret Radiance is the finishing touch for this collection, it adds a gorgeous champagne back-lit glow to the skin. Try applying it on the high points of the face to create points of light. I find it helps to add some dimension to my round face, especially when I dust it lightly along the bridge of my nose. You can also take a little bit and dab it into your gloss for extra shimmer, and even use it on the inner corner of your eyes to brighten them up. I love the All-Over Face Colors, they’re such great multi-taskers.

Now, that blush isn’t so bad—is it?

Bottom Line…

This may sound shocking—considering there’s a practically neon pink cheek color in this collection—but Simply Irresistible is a very elegant offering. I love these eyeshadow shades for creating a soft sage green smoky eye.
