Happy new year, lovelies! Out with the old, in with the new! (I wish I could say that about my cold.) Here’s the latest from bareMinerals—the Remix Collection which is available this month in stores. This post is pretty image and detail heavy, so let’s get to it!

The Remix Collection aqua-sheen packaging

Remix features some limited-edition packaging, it’s this really cool aqua-sheen finish.

Flawless Definition Mascara in Aqua Blast

Black, Aqua Blast

For the eyes, both READY Eyeshadow 4.0 quads are pretty stunning—I’d say the worst part about them, is trying to decide whether it’s The Wild Thing, or The Next Big Thing that makes its way home with you! Both READY palettes are the exceptional quality I’ve become accustomed to in the bareMinerals READY lineup; the shades are pigmented beautifully, and the quality of the product is there—with the eyeshadows soft and velvety to the touch, and they glide across the skin without any skipping or tugging. There’s a certain creaminess to the READY shades that I don’t get with any other pressed shadows, that I think you’ll need to feel the texture of them to truly appreciate!

For the Flawless Definition Mascara, the limited edition packaging brings us the original black shade option, in addition to a fun shade—Aqua Blast. This shade doesn’t show up as bright as I would like on my lashes, but it still shows up—even if it’s ever so slight. In terms of volume, I don’t think this mascara is the best choice, but as the name implies, if it’s clean definition you’re after, this is a good choice. I recommend using your favorite regular mascara first (to get your lashes the way you wish), then use the Aqua Blast to tip the lashes with the aqua tint.

Loud & Clear Lip Sheers

Amped Pink, Tangerine Trance, Berry Remix

Amped Pink, Tangerine Trance, Berry Remix

As a lip balm addict, the Loud & Clear Lip Sheers are probably what I was most excited about. These have a translucent gel base with hydrating jojoba oil and shea butter, and a very sheer tint of color. There’s a very slight citrus scent to them out of the tube, but after I’ve applied them, I can’t really detect much. They do glide across the lips with ease, and feel very comforting, but I felt like something was missing. Maybe a little more tint? Great for moisture and a hint of color—and I think Berry Remix shows up the most of the three shades available.

The Natural High READY Blush

The Natural High READY Blush

The Natural High READY Blush, NARS Orgasm Blush

This shade of READY Blush (The Natural High) is a phenomenal dupe for NARS Orgasm, but I actually find the quality of the bareMinerals shade much better in terms of smooth application and overall product pigmentation. This golden peachy-pink will wind up an instant favorite of many people, once they see how flattering it truly is! I highly recommend this as a purchase choice.

Secret Radiance All-Over Face Color

Secret Radiance is a golden, candlelit-sheen all-over face color. Great for using just about anywhere, but my favorite thing to do with most bareMinerals All-Over Face Colors, is to use them as highlighters or luminizers. As in the swatches below, this is a sheer, warm golden pearl shade, and a little really does go a long way. Try applying it to only the high points of the face after you’re finished with all of your makeup, for a candlelit glow.

Bronzing Mineral Veil

Bronzing Mineral Veil is an easy way to add a translucent finish, with some color! This delivers a punch more color to the finish than the traditional Tinted Mineral Veil, and offers the skin-protection benefits of an SPF 25. For me, it’s a tad early for a product like this, but it’s something I’ll reach for a little closer to mid-spring.

Bronzing Mineral Veil, Secret Radiance All-Over Face Color, The Natural High READY Blush

Bottom Line…

What a gorgeous collection to take some of the chill out of dark winter looks! If I had to pick key items to recommend, it would definitely be one of the READY Eyeshadow 4.0 quads, or the READY Blush in The Natural High.
