bareMinerals Instant Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover Review, Photos

If you wear eye makeup, there is just no way around having a great eye makeup remover. And if you wear waterproof mascara? It’s not even an option! I hardly wear waterproof mascara, but I find that waterproof eye makeup removers work best for me, above all else. I need that oily-slip, it just feels more comfortable, with less tugging, and more complete. I recently learned that bareMinerals has released their own version, the Instant Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover, and I was happy to put it to the test!

Instant Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover is a dual-action formula that contains naturally-derived emollients, and a unique mineral complex to help bind moisture to the skin. What I found really interesting, is that this also contains a fruit-infused water blend of cucumber, kiwi, and apple. It’s formulated without parabens, synthetic fragrances, and artificial oils.

So did it work? I even broke my personal no-waterproof mascara pledge to find out. And I’m happy to say that Instant Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover from bareMinerals worked very well; both with waterproof, and regular eye makeup. Some eye makeup removers sting the skin on my eyelids so badly that I can’t stand it (I have eczema on one of my eyelids, bummer—so I’m especially sensitive on that eye). This didn’t sting at all and felt soothing. It was pretty effortless to use too, I didn’t have to tug or rub, and my lids and lashes were perfectly clean.

Bottom Line…

I love this, and it does a great job of removing both waterproof, and regular eye makeup for me. It does leave behind a little bit of an oily residue, which I actually find soothing (but I know some people don’t care for that feeling). It feels really gentle on my eyes.

I just got a sample of Simple’s (Not sure if you’ve heard of that line before) eye makeup remover, and it claimed to be gentle because all their products are natural and nothing bad is added like perfumes or dyes. I was really hopeful, but it didn’t work for me. I still felt stinging, actually worse than other ones I have used before which I found weird for a product that claims all natural. I guess you can’t believe everything you read.

I have that problem too sometimes! I haven’t tried their remover yet, but I have tried their remover wipes–and they’re actually one of the few that don’t sting me!

I have a ton of trouble finding a good eyemake remover. I loved for the longest time one from MaryKay and they changed the formula a few yrs ago – not the same now. I have been looking for another one. I usually like to have one that is oil free but still has a slip to it like Lancone’s Bi-phasic one (don’t know how to spell it)…I keep when I can find it, one that is more of a cream formula for the times I have lots of mascara and liner on as it’s more gentile for me to get going with taking it off – yrs ago Clarins made a great one but they also changed to only a liquid one. I found a new cream brand and have loved it – non oily. Not sure what I will try next because I only have 1 bottle left of the old Mary Kay formula. I had to pick up one when out of town and forgot to pack mine…I got one by Nutrogena that was in 2 phases and you shake it up to use – but it seemed not to take the make up off easily. I hate to have to tug at my eyes – tender skin area. Maybe I will try this one when I get to a Sephora next month. The one Celine mentioned by Simple sounds good too – I need gentle. I have not tried anything yet from the Simple line

I’ve been looking for a new eye makeup remover and I don’t like spending $26 a bottle for Lancome so I am definitely going to pick this up!

YES! It’s a little less oily than Lancome, but still just as effective. Let me know how you like :)

This had me at “instant” and “waterproof” though I haven’t put it to the waterproof test yet. It’s my new go-to.

I just tried Neutrogena Make-Up Remover Cleansing Towelettes Night Calming and can not believe how well they remove waterproof mascara. They really work. Clinique Take The Day Off is great too. But the wipes weren’t oily and I can use them to wipe out the sink when I’m done cleaning my face. i will probably try this b/c I love BE products.
