As a follow-up to the very popular Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Eyeshadows, Maybelline recently released five new metallic shades. Interesting factoid—Maybelline tells us that one Color Tattoo shade is sold every 20 seconds!
- Inked In Pink — metallic shimmering rose
- Silver Strike — metallic shimmering silver
- Gold Rush — metallic shimmering yellow gold
- Barely Branded — metallic shimmering beige
- Electric Blue — metallic shimmering navy
With a cream-gel formula, these are like a hybrid of MAC Paint Pots and Make Up For Ever Aqua Creams. The best part? They’re super budget-friendly, at less than half the price of either of those products.
You can apply these with a fingertip or with a small, flat synthetic brush; and I’ve even used Electric Blue by applying it with a slightly stiff angled liner brush. Color Tattoo is very apt in the multi-tasking department—you can wear them as a liner, alone as shadow, or as a primer for powdered shadows. I love the versatility these offer, and I’ve actually worn shade Barely Branded three days straight (not in one application!). It’s the PERFECT everyday neutral shade that will look great on most skin tones. I love these for being one and done cream shadows, they’re pretty effortless to apply.
Features & benefits:
- Innovative ink technology creates intense saturated metallic color
- Cream-gel formula smooths on for crease-proof color
- Long-wearing intensity
Inked In Pink
Inked In Pink, Silver Strike, Gold Rush, Barely Branded, Electric Blue
I love these just as much as I loved the original collection of Color Tattoo eyeshadows, but one thing I noticed was that the Gold Rush shade’s texture was a little less creamy and pigmented than the remaining four metals. These do last a long time on the eye indeed, and as long as I don’t rub my eyes—they don’t budge. I tested Barely Branded and Electric Blue overnight (which I don’t recommend doing), and they lasted all night with minimal fading!
