3 Best — And 2 Worst — Dry Shampoos

Find out which dry shampoos will become a lifesaver — and which will only make your already greasy hair look even worse

3 Best -- And 2 Worst -- Dry Shampoos

This is a TotalBeauty.com Hair care article

Dry shampoos are without a doubt a life-changing hair care product. They not only majorly cut down the time of your styling routine, but they also have the power to revive even the greasiest hair, making it look just-washed in minutes. However, not all dry shampoos are created equal. While some will simplify your life by adding volume and a pretty scent in one spray, others will only weigh down your hair and add to the grease you were trying to get rid of in the first place. Before you hit the beauty aisle, check out this roundup of the best and worst dry shampoos so you make the right choice!

THE WORST: NO. 2: BUMBLE AND BUMBLE HAIR POWDER, $35

TotalBeauty.com average reader rating: 4.8

“A complete waste of time and total disappointment from a generally fantastic company. Bumble and bumble needs to throw this out and go back to the drawing board to start over and get it right on the next try!”

: THE WORST: NO. 1: TRESEMME FRESH START DRY SHAMPOO, $4.49

TotalBeauty.com average reader rating: 4.3

“This product did the exact OPPOSITE of what it was supposed to do. It left my hair feeling greasy, heavy and flat.”

SO-SO: NO. 2: OSCAR BLANDI PRONTO DRY SHAMPOO SPRAY, $11

TotalBeauty.com average reader rating: 6.8

“I’ve read so many good things about this product, so I was disappointed when I first used it and it left residue in my hair — even though I brushed it out as the directions said.”

I made the mistake of buying the Tresemme one once – literally the worst hair product I have ever tried!!

I completely agree! It turned me off dry shampoos completely for quite some time after using that dreadful product!

Thank you for doing this post! I have tried all three of these dry shampoos, and completely 100% agree with you. I’m so happy you did this post because I wanted to make sure it wasn’t just me. I actually like the Tresemme better than Bumble & Bumble but I think that’s only because I spent a lot less on it to get equally bad results.

I was extremely disappointed with Bumble & Bumble because I find that they are, overall, a great company … although I have been disappointed with a few of their products, this dry shampoo being one of them.

I agree with the sentiments on the Tresemme dry shampoo — it made my hair seem greasy/shiny, and it was already greasy & shiny .. that’s why I needed dry shampoo in the first place :/

I keep trying the Oscar Blandi dry shampoo thinking maybe something will change, maybe I will like it this time. So many people rave about it, but it still doesn’t impress me. I also switched it up and started using their powder version, which works very well as a dry shampoo, but, of course, leaves an AWFUL powdery residue. It makes my hair look grey.

I find it hard sometimes to navigate through TotalBeauty.com, so thanks for putting this post together :)
