essie spring 2013—a fashionable itinerary…
This season, essie brings us a collection of six new nail polish shades inspired by some of the most fashionable destinations in the world. From Tokyo to Rio, each shade represents some pretty swanky shopping destinations. Who doesn’t love shopping? I don’t know about you, but I can always use a little retail therapy!
Speaking of shopping—did you hear about the former Park Avenue princess that once flew to Paris just to pick up a hard-to-find Chanel polish? Crazy, right? Sheesh!
Madison Ave-Hue, Go Gina, Avenue Maintain, Bond With Whomever, Maximillian Strasse Her, Hip-Anema
Let’s check out the swatches…
Avenue Maintain — Parisian blue creme
Hip-Anema — poppy-bright red orange creme
Go Ginza — soft cherry blossom lavender-pink creme
Maximillian Strasse Her — cool grey-green creme
Bond With Whomever — posh London lilac creme
Madison Ave-Hue — chic upper east side pink (fuchsia) with slight silver shimmer
Each shade gave opaque coverage in two coats, and the flow was pretty consistent. The one shade that seemed a little thicker was Go Ginza. For some reason, I seem to find that a lot of very pale pastels have a different viscosity than other shades. Maybe it’s just my imagination, but it’s something I personally often encounter. I know a few of these shades are pretty dupable, but they’re still pretty nonetheless.
Of special note, Madison Ave-Hue is actually much prettier in-person than how it photographed in my opinion. The slight shimmer makes it a little different, since the rest of the collection are cremes.
