Tried & Tested: 5 Facial Exfoliators That Rock

1. Ole Henricksen Power Peel

My current favorite, the Power Peel pairs a powerful punch of physical and alpha hydroxy acid-based exfoliators with a soothing mask in three pouches for a single use (3 steps per peel; scrub, peel, then mask). Each box comes with six perfectly measured treatments, and nothing goes to waste. My favorite part is step 2, the Lemon Strip Peel. I can’t stand a wimpy peel, and the glycolic and lactic acids add a bit of zing, which is then soothed by the Chamomile Comfort mask. My skin is left glowing, bright, and super smooth immediately after one treatment. I liked this one so much, that I actually just purchased another box. (Best if used once weekly.) –$45, sephora.com

2. philosophy Microdelivery Dual-Phase Peel

This oldie but goodie never lets me down! The Microdelivery Peel uses two steps to reveal fresh, smooth skin after just one use. First, you use the physical exfoliator (bicarbonate vitamin C crystals), then activate it with the gel (lactic acid). A slight warming sensation occurs, and you rinse it off after one minute. The results are pretty much undeniable. –$69, sephora.com

3. Somme Institute Transport

Exfoliate without any abrasion with Transport. These pre-moistened pore de-gunking, skin-smoothing pads are loaded with vitamins, soothing botanical extracts, retinol, and glycolic acid. Gently rub a single pad over your face, back, neck, or upper chest after cleansing to promote cell renewal. –$58, beauty.com

4. Votre Vu re.FIND

For those that need something on the very gentle side, re.FIND is an excellent choice! This creamy, skin-softening physical exfoliator contains shea butter, pore-cleansing kaolin, and finely milled apricot seeds to reveal smoother skin. This feels very pampering and luxe, and can be used up to three times a week after cleansing the skin. –$28, votrevu.com

5. StriVectin-SH Advanced Overnight Resurfacing Serum

This gradual resurfacing serum from StriVectin utilizes a unique complex of sugars (prickly pear extract), willow bark (salicylic acid), red algae (helps with hyperpigmentation), rose bud (antioxidant), and Niacin (stimulates cell repair) to encourage natural enzymes to break down dead skin cells that rob the skin of revitalized texture and tone. You can wear this twice daily; either alone, or underneath your regular skincare routine to reach a cumulative result in approximately 2-4 weeks. –$64.98, qvc.com
