Last week, I visited my local Target in order to drool over the latest spring nail polish launches. Let’s just say, I wasn’t disappointed in the selection! They had the latest from Maybelline, L’Oreal Paris, Revlon, Sonia Kashuk, Revlon, and more—and it was incredibly hard for me to select just a few to use to create some easy springtime nail art.
Let’s take a closer look!
Okay—so right up front—nail art isn’t exactly my forte! But I still was able to create two very easy looks using the latest spring nail colors for L’Oreal Paris and Maybelline. If nail art isn’t your strongest skill, I’m absolutely positive that you can recreate these looks, and even come up with your own with the use of a few simple tools.
What I used…
- 2 Limited Edition Maybelline Color Show shades; Coral Glow, and Flash of Purple
- A basic white polish; I like Wet n Wild Wild Shine French White Creme
- 3 Limited Edition L’Oreal Paris shades from the Versailles Collection; Macaroon Me Madly, Creme Puffs, and Royally Yours
- A plastic sandwich bag to work off of
For look 1, I utilized two of my favorite Maybelline Color Show shades. This shimmering coral and vibrant purple are limited edition—so if you like what you see, head to Target now!
It’s simple to recreate: simply apply your base color, and allow it to dry completely. Working off of a plastic sandwich bag, just apply a little of both polishes to the bag. Using the end of a toothpick, dab the color on the end of the toothpick, then use it to create small dots on your nails in a circle. Then, use a contrasting shade to add a bright dot in the middle of the circle. Super easy!
The final result…
For look two, I utilized a similar technique but applying dots to an accent nail with alternating colors. These came from the brand new, limited edition L’Oreal Paris Versailles collection. Get thee to Target ASAP for these! The collection boasts six perfectly pastel Colour Riche Nail shades. They’re all gorgeous, but I had to narrow down my color choices for this look. I used Macaroon Me Madly (soft shimmering peach), Creme Puffs (soft shimmering creme), and Royally Yours (soft shimmering baby blue).
