essie Bridal Collection 2013 Review, Photos, Swatches

A little bit classic with a touch of modern, it’s that time of the year for essie to bring us the premiere polish collection for wedding season—essie Bridal 2013. Brides and bridesmaids alike will have their pick of four chic hues that make a statement, without overpowering the elegant beauty of the big day. Let’s take a closer look!

No Baggage Please, My Better Half, Meet Me at the Altar, Using My Maiden Name

I found all four new shades to be romantic and sweet, without being too sweet. They delivered great opacity in two coats and I didn’t experience any application issues. The flow of the polish is consistent, and self-levels nicely. The only shade you may wish to apply a thin third coat to, would be the pale pink, No Baggage Please—and that’s solely dependent on how thick your second coat is. Aside from that, these are the great quality I’ve personally come to expect from essie.

With the shades No Baggage Please, and Meet Me at the Altar, I really wish my camera did a much better job of showing the silver gleam in the shades. It’s a really pretty silver shimmer—but not so much of a glitter, actually. The way it’s dispersed within the colors is super gorgeous. You can see it a little better in the bottle shots, and just a hint of it in the swatches. That gleam is just as pretty on the nails as it is in the bottles!

No Baggage Please — pastel rosy pink with slight silver gleam

My Better Half — medium peony pink base with slight peony pearl

Meet Me at the Altar — romantic pale lilac with slight silver gleam

Using My Maiden Name — blue hydrangea with slight lavender pearl
