Pierre Hardy for NARS Collection — ‘Vertebra’ Nail Polish Pair, ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ Blush Review, Photos, Swatches

NARS Pierre Hardy Collection

Inspired by the Pierre Hardy summer 2013 shoe collection, NARS pairs up with the iconic designer for a refreshing color palette that’s sure to inspire beauty buffs and makeup artists everywhere. The collection offers six nail polish pairs (in cute shoe boxes with dust bags!), and two high voltage blush shades. I have one of the nail polish pairs, and my favorite blush shade from the collection to share with you. I hope you love them as much as I do!

The newest NARS collection was inspired by the Summer 2013 Pierre Hardy shoe collection.

NARS Pierre Hardy Boys Don't Cry Blush

‘Boys Don’t Cry’ Blush

There are two blushes available in the collection, Boys Don’t Cry (pink grapefruit), and Rotonde (tiger lily). With me being such a nut for coral, it was only natural that I went with Boys Don’t Cry. Both blushes have a beautiful gold cubic print over-spray, it will dust away after a few swipes. What’s left is an incredibly pigmented, easily blendable blush, with a silky finish.

It’s actually more of a matte finish on the skin, and don’t let the look of it in the pan scare you. Even though it is really pigmented—it’s truly gorgeous on the skin and can be blended down if you use a light hand. The pan is HUGE, it weighs in at a total of 0.45 0z. A typical NARS blush is 0.16 oz. That explains the price difference!

NARS Pierre Hardy Vertebra Nail Polish Collection

‘Vertebra’ Nail Polish Pair

Inspired by Pierre Hardy’s 2013 high-fashion shoe collection, NARS infuses his ultra modern color palette into limited edition nail polish pairs, presented in the spirit of his signature shoebox packaging. There are six “pairs” available, but the one that spoke most to me was Vertebra. Something about the coral (Vertebra Left)/dusty rose creme (Vertebra Right) combo called my name!

I have to say, compared to NARS polishes I’ve tried in the past, the formula in this duo was pretty superb. Both shades were very pigmented in a single coat (swatches are shown with two), and there seemed to be more of a shiny lacquer finish than usual. They leveled nicely, and I have no complaints. I don’t know if they’ve truly changed the NARS polish formulation—but whatever they’ve done is right—I do notice some positive differences.
