BECCA Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector Review, Photos

becca ever matte poreless priming perfector

I have no idea what I did before foundation primer came about. Once I found out that they stopped my foundation from sliding around all day after my skin’s oil production kicked up, I haven’t looked back since. I don’t even think about applying foundation without primer first now. But no matter what primer I’ve used, I haven’t been able to find one that allows me to completely eliminate those mid-afternoon touch ups with a blotting paper or two—until now. BECCA’s new Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector totally acts like liquid blotting paper! This stuff is like magic in a tube.

This multi-tasker is an all-in-one solution to oily skin, enlarged pores, and makeup that just doesn’t want to stay on. Sweat-proof and humidity-resistant, Ever Matte is a silicone and oil-free balm that you can apply both before foundation, and after (yes, after!) to smooth the skin’s appearance. This hides the emphasis of pores and fine lines to ensure a perfect foundation application.

This may come as a shock—but I swear this is the BEST primer I have used to date. And I’ve used A LOT of primers in my time! The wear is incredible, I am not shiny at all after over seven hours. The texture is a little bit thicker than other primers, but it’s so odd because it doesn’t feel heavy on my skin at all. It actually feels very light, and it has a slight cooling sensation right after application. This targets my oiliest areas and balances them, so I have a smooth, matte finish that doesn’t look cakey or dry. I don’t detect any fragrance, so if you have a sensitive sniffer, no worries.

For illustrative purposes, I applied foundation on the back of my hand both with and without primer. See how the surface of my skin without the primer looks dry with the foundation and you can see about a billion fine lines? Then look underneath that—the skin is a smooth canvas with foundation on top of it. Crazy!

Bottom Line…

It only took one use for me to discover that this product lives up to the hype! I highly recommend this for those with enlarged pores and oily skin types.

I use it and wanted to mention a couple of things… you “pat” it on… and you can also use it over your makeup.. in spots like your t-zone!!… again… patting it on the trouble spots to mattify the area

Wow! I love that “split screen” photo!! Looks like a filter was added (and I guess in some ways it was 😉 Sounds awesome!

I think I’m the only person in America who didn’t love this! It didn’t like my skin, as it made it oiler. I did a side by side with this on one side of my face, and MAC’s Prep & Prime on the other side, and the MAC worked so much better, which was surprising because it’s not touted as mattifying!?

  • Amber

Thank you SO much for sharing your experience. It might help someone else from going crazy because it worked so well for me–I mean REALLY well! I’m so sorry to hear it didn’t work for you. xo

  • Kristen / Glambunctious

Thank you for being so nice about it! I was hesitant to post it b/c I didn’t want to sound like Negative Nan over here, lol! :) I’m glad it worked for you though b/c mattifying is a way of life in the summer time!

  • Amber

NO! I always want to hear the good and the bad! That’s the whole point. I love hearing from you guys, no matter the outcome!

  • Olivia Frescura

Looks amazing! I’ll have to add it to my wishlist! :)

  • Amber

I’m really loving it. It’s easy to get too much out of the tube I’m discovering with more use–so just be careful!

Have you tried Givenchy Mister Mat? How would this compare?

  • Amber

No! I haven’t! I always thought Givenchy was a little out of my price range.
