Joy to the girls!
Too Faced really rocked it this holiday with their Joy to the Girls Collection, and this is probably my favorite piece from the collection, the A Few of my Favorite Things Palette. It’s jam-packed with 20 fantastic eyeshadows, two blush shades, two of their most popular bronzers, a full-size Lip Injection Color Bomb in an exclusive shade (Bee Sting), a deluxe size Better Than Sex mascara, a get-the-look guide, all in a chevron clutch with a pattern by celebrity decorator Mary McDonald. WHEW! That was a mouthful! Let’s take a closer look…
Let’s talk eyeshadows for a minute. Too Faced is well-known for their great eyeshadow quality—it’s rare that there’s a total miss—and I truly didn’t feel there was a total miss in this palette. A few of the shades may be a little stiffer than others, but overall, the quality is there, and the pigment payoff is well worth it. While swatching, pigmentation was great on a single pass, and while applying, the pigment both lays down, and blends nicely.
One of the most remarkable things to me I noticed with this palette was some improvement in the fallout with the shades that have glitter. Glitter fallout is always the name of the game with eyeshadow in my humble opinion, but I noticed the glitter shades in this palette had much less fallout than those of glitters past. The fallout is not 100% eliminated, but I was genuinely surprised that when I applied Blue Satin Sashes and Pure Glam, that my clean-up efforts weren’t incredibly difficult. Kudos on that, Too Faced! Take into consideration that I patted those shadows on, and I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer to keep it in check. Tap your excess!
Each shade is decently sized at .06 oz each, and the names of some of the shadows make my heart turn into a pile of goo. Come on—Whiskers on Kittens and Cream Colored Ponies? Most AWESOME. There’s an excellent mix of satins, pearls, a few with subtle duo-chrome-like qualities, glitters, and mattes. If this palette only contained the shadows, I would buy it. But luckily, that’s not all that’s inside. Hold on, it gets better…

See? I told you they were gorgeous—but I also said it gets better! Also included are two generously sized blushes (0.14 oz each). The shades are Raindrops on Roses (candy pink pearl), and Melt into Spring (soft coral matte). Both have great pigmentation, blend easily, and stay put for the majority of the day. I experienced slight fading after six hours, but that’s the norm for my skin.
Overwhelmed yet? Hang on! You’ll also get two of the best bronzers—I love these guys! Chocolate Soleil is a medium chocolate matte bronzer that smells like chocolate, and Sun Bunny (a split pan with a light and medium shimmer shade).

This was my first time trying the new Better Than Sex Mascara (this one is a mini at 0.17 oz), and I like it! I thought it gave a nice fluttery effect. I used two coats in the photo below, but I probably could have gotten away with a few more for some drama.
This look is one I pulled together very quickly, eyeshadow application is not my area of expertise, but I found it easy to apply and blend.
- Cream Colored Ponies from lid to brow
- Honey Honey on eyelids, slightly into the crease
- Crisp Apple Strudel in the crease
- Snowflakes on brow bone (just a little)
- Buche de Noel very softly as eyeliner on both top and bottom
Also included is a full-size Lip Injection Color Bomb in an exclusive shade, Bee Sting (warm pinky-nude). This isn’t your average chubby moisturizing gloss balm, it has stimulating ingredients that temporarily dilate the capillaries in your lips for a little swelling and fullness. It gives a little stinging effect too, but check out my original review of the Lip Injection Color Bomb lineup here to see if it’s for you.
Yes! This is an incredible value at $56 ($436 value), I would strongly consider this as a gift purchase, or a treat for yourself.
