Urban Decay Limited Edition Nail Color in Zodiac & Blackheart Review, Photos, Swatches

Two new limited edition shades…

Remember not that long ago, I told you the story about how Urban Decay started in 1996 with just 12 nail polishes and 10 lipsticks? And that they were going to release two new, and very limited edition nail shades each season? Well, I’m back with the winter edition!

This time, we have Zodiac (smoky green with gold, green and blue 3-D micro-glitter), and Blackheart (smoky greige with red and multicolored shimmer) to choose from, and they meet up pretty closely with their eyeshadow counterparts. Blackheart isn’t a 100% dupe for Blackheart eyeshadow, but I can see a slight resemblance. With Zodiac however, it looks just like its matching Moondust eyeshadow shade.

Like the previous limited edition nail color releases, the bottle is gorge; it has the signature “UD” in silver on the front of the bottle, and a raised “Urban Decay” on the cap, along with a gunmetal skull with rose eyes. Pretty fancy, huh?

This new polish formula isn’t anything like the old Urban Decay polishes in my opinion. These are super saturated and give great coverage with minimal product. They self-level nicely and have an intense shine to them. There has been a significant improvement in the formula when compared to the mini sets of polishes they’ve released in the past, and the wear has definitely improved. I experience less chipping and longer wear versus the old formula. The brush is also pretty lush and full, with 400 strands—it makes clean application very easy for me.

This formula is 3-free—formulated without toluene, formaldehyde or DBP.
