We still have a few days left of the Sochi Olympics, and it’s not too late to share your Team USA spirit! COVERGIRL sent me a few shades of the Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Gloss to see what I could come up with. I’m not the best at nail art, so if I can do it—so can you!
Here’s what I used to help me out:
- A paint striping brush (I bought this one at Sally for under $5)
- A few nail gems/rhinestones (You can purchase these inexpensively at beauty supply stores, I bought a larger disc for future use.
- Three shades of polish: COVERGIRL Ever Reddy, Snow Storm, and Out of the Blue.
- Striping tape (Inexpensive at beauty supply stores, even my CVS and Target carry them!)
- Nail glue
See how easy it is for nail gems to hide mistakes?
The U.S. design is totally up to you! I did something really easy by painting my nails in alternating shades, the blue, and then the white. I used striping tape on the white nails in an attempt to add a blue half-moon. It didn’t work out so well! So after, I used a striping brush with the red shade to create the stripes of the U.S. Flag, I disguised my mistakes with nail gems.
I also added a single red nail gem at the base of all the nails I painted blue. Easy, right? Finish with top coat, allow to dry, and you’re ready to be Sochi Glam. Go Team USA!
I dedicate this post to the Women’s U.S. Figure Skating team that had a little bit of a rough night, but we love you ladies and look forward to seeing you again in four years! We’re so proud of you, Gracie Gold and Ashley Wagner. Go get ’em next time, ladies!
(P.S. I wish I could tell you where you could buy a super cool set of these #EasyBreezyUSA fingerless gloves, but they were a gift from the brand.)
