About a zillion years ago, when I had my first big girl job with a big girl paycheck, I was obsessed with this new brand called Urban Decay. The line wasn’t very large at the time, but the small offering of shades was very risqué for the time period. I wore Gash lipstick, and you couldn’t tell me ANYTHING! I thought I was just the hottest thing going, in a time period where pretty rose pinks and light browns were prevalent. It really was like my sex-say lipstick training wheels! I eventually moved on to other deep and moody lipsticks after my dark shade introduction, and Gash was eventually retired. Tears were shed.
Gash has long been a favorite of Wende Zomnir (she holds all the power since she’s the brand’s co-founder and CCO). Girlfriend has such rockin’ taste. (You should see her in person! Style out of control!) As it turns out—she really missed Gash too. (And lucky US!) Here’s a shade a LOT of us are happy she’s revisiting. Thanks, Wende!
Gash is a sensational, vampy blood-red with a hint of micro-shimmer. (It’s not too crazy glittery or anything, just enough for subtle dimension.) Even better, the formula has been updated to the ultra DREAMY Revolution Lipstick formula. Have you tried that formula yet? ZOMG! One of the best on the market in my humble opinion, since it combines insane pigment, staying power, and creamy luxury. They contain jojoba, avocado oil, cocoa butter, and shea—which leads to comfy, soft lips. Even with those dark, vampy colors which are historically known to suck the ever-living life out of your lips.
(May swatch a little darker for you on lips, due to lighting conditions—I had to use a flash.)
Sadly, all good things must come to an end, and it’s been reported that this is back in an extremely limited release, exclusively on urbandecay.com for $22. Once it is gone, it is gone, and I have a feeling Wende might lock it away in the vault for a lot longer than Gash fans would like. (If it EVER comes back!) Grab your tube while you can, beauties. Maybe even two if you can, considering that this lip trend is coming back in a major way, thanks to icons like Lorde and the 90’s retro looks spotted on runways!
Extra bonus: Gash makes your teeth look SUPER white! Check out Vampy Varnish for the proof!
