I spent Tuesday at The Happiest Place on Earth with Urban Decay for a tea party to celebrate the upcoming Alice Through the Looking Glass Collection, and I had to get these on your radar! I’ve had these in my hot little hands for a little over 24 hours, so I’m not prepared to give you full reviews, but please consider this post a sneak peek with some of my first impressions.
It’s been about five years since the Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows sold out, but UD partnered with Disney again for the latest in Wonderland — Alice Through the Looking Glass. The collection includes a gorgeous eyeshadow palette (see the full sneak peek of the palette here), and five exclusive and unique lipstick shades to coincide with the movie’s release. It’s totally fitting that a movie that has a message about embracing our differences is attributed to such diverse shades. It’s not every day that you see navy blue lips, right? Somehow, UD is making it happen. I predict these lippies will be a smash hit.
What a glorious kaleidoscope of color, right? Each arrives in a decorative box, perfect for the beautifully-capped lipstick that shares the collection’s very colorful motif.
UD on the top!
Alice — sheer peachy-nude with pink shift
Iracebeth — bright red comfort matte
Mirana — matte berry with tonal shimmer
Time — navy blue with silver shimmer
Urban Decay Mad Hatter — bright purple shimmer
I tried really hard to show you these in all of their glory, but there’s something really special about the metallized shades — Mad Hatter, Mirana, and Time. Mad Hatter is the shade I’ll wear the most, but that Iracebeth also has my heart. I was truly shocked with how smoothly it applied and how creamy it feels. For a matte, it hasn’t made my lips feel dry, and it leaves behind a pretty stain as it fades.
Alice is a little more pink than it appears, and it has the most gorgeous pink shift to it that I can’t get to reflect in photographs. Alice is the sheerest shade of the bunch, and reminds me of the Sheer Revolution Lipstick formula. For being such a deeply-pigmented shade, Mirana is also surprisingly quite smooth and creamy.
Time was the second most sheer shade, but after a few swipes, there’s pretty good coverage.

Through no fault other than my own, unfortunately I was unable to capture an accurate image of the Alice shade on my lips. But don’t fret! The most accurately I’ve seen it displayed is over at Phyrra. She did a fantastic job with her Alice Through the Looking Glass swatches, so don’t miss them.
