ColourPop In Bloom Collection by Jamie Greenberg Review, Photos, Swatches

colour pop in bloom collection jamie Greenberg

In the past few months, I’ve seen the popularity of ColourPop explode. If you’ve heard of the line before, the chances are you already own several pieces and are loving them dearly. If this is your first experience — I wouldn’t be surprised if you wind up with several of their goodies in your makeup collection ASAP.

Currently, you’ll find the brand online only, and at this time they specialize in lip colors, cheek colors, and eyeshadows. The prices are insanely low — just $5-$8 for each item! The colors and pigmentation are incredible, and I’ve yet to hear a single complaint about their products. I finally had my first experience with a few items from the line, as they’re doing some awesome collaborations with some of the best movers and shakers in the beauty world.

This is the new In Bloom Collection, created with one of my favorite makeup artists, Jamie Greenberg. Not only is she behind some of the hottest red carpet looks of many of today’s most photographed starlets — but she is ridiculously funny, incredibly sweet, and super talented. I just love everything about her! (Her YouTube channel is a riot.) Let’s check out her collection that will get you through spring and summer (and likely get you hooked on Colour Pop).  [Read more…]

tarte Sweet Indulgences 3-in-1 Holiday Gift Set for QVC Today’s Special Value for 11/10/14

Tarte Sweet Indulgence 3 in 1 holiday gift set qvc tsv

I’ve been tinkering with tarte’s QVC  Today’s Special Value; it’s the Sweet Indulgences 3-in-1 Holiday Gift Set, and it is bountiful! On 11/10, you can score this phenomenal gift for just $59.94. After Monday—it will go back to regular price. To help you decide if you should make the splurge, I’ve put together the product photos, swatches, and product information. This won’t serve as a full review since I haven’t been able to wear all of these items in the amount of time I’ve had the collection, so please use this as more of a guide than a full review.

This is an easy way to have three individual gifts for about $20 each, or you can gift the whole set together. All three golden leaflet-print boxes slide into a single case. Kind of like a cute little library of makeup treats!

Inside the aqua box, you’ll find…

  • Lipsurgence Lip Gloss in Indulging — soft raspberry
  • Lipsurgence Lip Creme in Wonder — poppy
  • Lipsurgence Lip Creme in Rare — peach nude
  • Amazonian Clay blush in Pampered — melon
  • Amazonian Clay blush in Savored — golden rose

The Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush shades are absolutely gorgeous! I can’t recall ever not liking any that I’ve tried, and these are no exception. I found that the colors really do stay true all day for me. They’re pretty silky to the touch, and aren’t powder-y, but my blush brush is able to pick up a nice deposit of pigment that blends easily into my skin without streaking. I have combination skin, and tend to get oily in my cheeks—so for these not to fade or slip around during the day is a win. That pretty iridescence in the Savored shade is everything!   [Read more…]

Perricone MD — No Makeup Skincare — No Lipstick Lipstick & No Blush Blush Review, Photos, Swatches

perricone MD No Blush No Lipstick

Perricone MD No Makeup Makeup

Sometimes I don’t want to wear makeup at all, but at the same time I want to look polished and not like I rolled out of bed. I’ve figured out a few tricks by now, but these new products from Perricone MD make it so easy. Their No Makeup Skincare line at Sephora is already a big hit, and I recently tried two of the products out to see if they live up to the hype. Let’s go!

Perricone MD No Lipstick Lipstick

No Lipstick Lipstick

First up is No Lipstick Lipstick. It really isn’t a lipstick (hence No Lipstick)—but it’s actually an anti-aging lip treatment that lends a glossy, smooth finish in a shade that’s like your lips—but better. I find it to be very nourishing and hydrating, and it almost feels like a lip butter. Perricone MD is known for their luxe skincare products, so it’s only natural that they’d include some of those innovative ingredients in their color cosmetic offerings.

It’s a solid-to-serum product, and contains hyaluronic acid and tocotrienols to add suppleness. It also contains a non-chemical mineral-based SPF 15 to protect against UVA and UVB rays, so you know I’m happy about that. (Sunscreen for LIFE!)   [Read more…]

Too Faced A Few of My Favorite Things Holiday Collection Palette Review, Photos, Swatches

too faced a few of my favorite things palette

Joy to the girls!

Too Faced really rocked it this holiday with their Joy to the Girls Collection, and this is probably my favorite piece from the collection, the A Few of my Favorite Things Palette. It’s jam-packed with 20 fantastic eyeshadows, two blush shades, two of their most popular bronzers, a full-size Lip Injection Color Bomb in an exclusive shade (Bee Sting), a deluxe size Better Than Sex mascara, a get-the-look guide, all in a chevron clutch with a pattern by celebrity decorator Mary McDonald. WHEW! That was a mouthful! Let’s take a closer look…

Let’s talk eyeshadows for a minute. Too Faced is well-known for their great eyeshadow quality—it’s rare that there’s a total miss—and I truly didn’t feel there was a total miss in this palette. A few of the shades may be a little stiffer than others, but overall, the quality is there, and the pigment payoff is well worth it. While swatching, pigmentation was great on a single pass, and while applying, the pigment both lays down, and blends nicely.  [Read more…]

MAC Indulge Collection Review, Photos, Swatches

mac indulge collection

I know this review is a little behind on the collection release date, and I’m so sorry! I like to really try things out, and sometimes it takes me a little longer than others to get through certain collections, especially when they’re larger. I thank you in advance for your patience, and let’s get on with it!

Decadence is the name of the game with the MAC Indulge Collection, where “no taste is too extravagant”. With smoldering eyeshadows, Cremeblend Blushes that just flush the skin, come-hither Lipglass and Lipsticks, and gilded and bright nail colors—here we go.

Lips…

Urban Decay Anarchy Face Case Review, Photos, Swatches

urban decay anarchy face case

The Anarchy Face Case is the second installment of Urban Decay’s new collection of Face Cases, and it sure is a beauty. The first one, Shattered seems a little more girlie than sassy like Anarchy. Another difference is that this one will be a Sephora exclusive for holiday and it’s limited. If you like what you see, try not to wait too long!

Anarchy Face Case

Like Shattered, Anarchy is the ultimate all-in-one palette. It’s bi-level, and on the top you have five eyeshadows, a travel size 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion (aka, best black eyeliner pencil ever), and a Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Color Pencil in Scandal (which is a limited edition shade). On the bottom level, there are two blushes, a highlighter, and the gloss pencil peeks through so you can access it from the bottom too. The top of the white case is adorned with a pretty baroque-inspired design and a silver embossed UD logo. [Read more…]

Urban Decay Shattered Face Case

Urban Decay’s first palette ever was a Face Case, but that was over 10 years ago, so I’m totally stoked to see the return of these multi-tasking wonders. There’s a second one, the Anarchy Face Case (Sephora exclusive), and my review for it will be coming soon (update: review is here). But in the meantime, see what makes this one my fave! Currently, these are all exclusive shades you won’t find anywhere else—with the exception of the eye liner and lip gloss pencils. [Read more…]
