Currently Loving: Four Truffles Argan Moisturizing Balm

Every so often, a product is so dang good that it doesn’t even make it to my photography table before I dig in. Case in point: Four Truffles Argan Moisturizing Balm. What was once two ounces of argan goodness, is now about one ounce of argan goodness!

This superior hydrating balm is an all-purpose wonder. I’ve used it on my lips, on my cuticles (you wouldn’t believe how much it helps on days where I swatch 6-12 nail polishes!), my hands, my elbows, my arms and legs—it’s just AMAZE! You can even use it on dry hair, especially split-ends…but I haven’t tried it for that just yet.

What’s inside to love…

Argan oil is rich in fatty acids that aid the skin’s protective functions, and restores the natural lipid barrier for incredible hydration. It warms up and melts right into the skin so you’re not stuck with an oil slick. It contains high levels of tocopherols, squalene, and other antioxidants that have been proven premature aging fighters!  [Read more...]

SANTE Naturkosmetik: Future Baby Mama Tested, Nature Girl Approved!

Hey everyone, it’s Amber…quick note, I’m NOT the one who’s preggers (scary thought, huh?), and deceiving title—I know. But BIGTIME congrats to Dilara who is expecting and reviewed the Sante line! She’ll be reviewing tons o’ things that are safe for her to use during her pregnancy, so when you see those references…I hope this clears up any confusion ;)

Affordable, organic and quality? Really? That is what Sante Naturkosmetik boasts about their product line.  I wanted see what an organic face felt like. I gotta say, it felt pretty good!

I am not a big fan of heavy foundations or concealers so I really appreciated that the Soft Cream Foundation lived up to its name—creamy, light and it blended right in with my natural skin.  Because I am so fair, their No.1 was perfect for my skin tone.  One pump was plenty—if you can master the art of the “half-pump” I say go for it!  The Concealer Stick No.1 was another great match for my complexion and went on easily with no fuss.  I like that it is in crayon form so you don’t have to worry about messy applicators. Just make sure you use a separate sharpener or clean your sharpener before using it. The last thing you want is black eyeliner mixed onto your concealer stick!  Their Kajal Eyeliner went on smoothly and stayed put all day.  The sponge blender on the end of the stick really helped soften the color.  Sante also has an organic nail polish in a variety of colors. I tried colors No.14 and No.04 and loved how they went on evenly. I like how it comes in a square-shaped bottle which makes it easier to hold during application. The wear and tear lasts about as long as a regular nail polish, but in my book the impressiveness is the fact this product was made with organic ingredients.  [Read more...]

Review: Original Sprout Miracle Detangler, Natural Shampoo, & Scrumptious Baby Cream

Now that I’m a mom-to-be, I am learning that what you put ON your body is just as important as what you put IN your body. Unfortunately, there are products out there that contain harmful chemicals and additives that can actually contribute to health problems to your unborn baby.  Scary! When a few samples of Original Sprout items fell into my hands I was more than eager to give them a shot. They tout that their products are natural and contain no harmful chemicals. And the extra added bonus is that they promote these products for the whole family by stating “For Babies & Up” right there on the front of the package.

First I tried their Natural Shampoo.  My hair felt clean and soft after use, but I really wish I would have had my hands on some of their Deep Conditioner to follow up. My hair is coarse and dry, so it is super rare I just shampoo and go.  Keep in mind this shampoo is safe for babies too so it has a rather low suds-factor which is great for youngins, but maybe mom might want some more foam.

After shampooing, I followed up with the Miracle Detangler and let me tell you—the name of this product is accurate. Growing up, I have flashbacks of sitting on the front porch while my mom would spritz detangler in my hair and try to comb out all the knots. Had this stuff been around in the early 80′s I would have been a much happier child—a miracle! It is rather rich, so I felt like the detangler actually added a conditioning element to my hair. One caution though—this stuff is so rich the pump got clogged a few times. I suggest rinsing the nozzle in hot water after every use. [Read more...]
