Jordana Cosmetics 12HR Made To Last Eyeshadow Pencil Review, Photos, Swatches

Jordana Cosmetics recently released their new 12HR Made To Last Eyeshadow Pencils at Walgreens ($3.99 SRP), and I’ve had my eye on them ever since. I’m so happy that I finally have them to share with you, I think you’ll find at least one you like—if not most of them!

The Made To Last pencils are chubby eye pencils that are super-creamy and long-lasting, with four being matte, and four having a shimmer finish. They’re water-resistant, and can be used as liners, eyeshadows, or eyeshadow bases, and require a chubby sharpener. Let’s take a closer look…

Eternal White, Stay-On Black, Tenacious Brown, Continuous Almond

The Made to Last Pencils are quite soft, so try not to push too hard with them, or they may smoosh. They’re not too soft, but I think they’re right on the border, so to be on the safe side—try to use a softer touch with them. It doesn’t take much pressure to get a lot of pigment! [Read more…]

Too Faced Pretty Rebel Eyeshadow Palette Review, Photos, Swatches

Too Faced Pretty Rebel 1

This fall, Too Faced is taking chances and breaking all the rules with their new Pretty Rebel eyeshadow palette. If loving Pretty Rebel is wrong, I don’t want to be right! This badass palette is home to 10 gorgeously pigmented shades; a few being on the more demure side, while the rest give a rebel yell. Ready to swoon? Let’s go!

Too Faced Pretty Rebel Palette

Pretty Rebel’s exterior has a textured faux gold surface, with raised black straps to give it an edgier appeal than I’m used to seeing from Too Faced—but I rather like it. The palette itself feels sturdy and has a magnetic closure which is pretty standard. Inside, you’ll find a good sized mirror that has a decorative gold stud pattern around it, it’s a cute touch to keep the theme consistent. And for the most important part—the eyeshadows…

Get ready. They ROCK. [Read more…]

MAC Favorites: Tropical Taboo Collection

MAC Tropical Taboo Collection

Now that we’re in the swing of things for summer, it’s the perfect time to share some of my favorites from the MAC Tropical Taboo Collection. This collection boasts some gorgeous shades, but these were the ones I gravitated towards the most. Let’s check them out!

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle, Lust

In the past, I haven’t had much luck with the Mineralize Eyeshadows, so I was a little concerned with being let down with them this time around. Luckily these two worked really well for me! These baked eyeshadows were generously pigmented and easy to blend. [Read more…]

NYX Love in Florence ‘Sunsets with Sophia’ Eyeshadow Palette Review, Swatches, Photos

nyx love in florence sunsets with sophia

NYX Cosmetics is well-known for creating dupes of some of our favorite higher end brands, and they do a pretty great job! Expanding their extensive eyeshadow lineup, is a new collection of palettes in their “Love in Florence” series. This is the Sunsets With Sophia palette, with five warm hues.

For a small 5-pan, I think this configuration is pretty generously sized. Housed in a black palette with a see-through lid (dang, no mirror), the size makes it perfect for sticking inside of a handbag or small makeup bag for travel. [Read more…]

MAC ‘Art of the Eye’ Collection Review, Swatches

MAC Art of the eye collection

Fresh off of my excitement about the MAC Temperature Rising Collection, I have several pieces from the current Art of the Eye Collection to share with you. As you probably guessed, this collection revolves entirely around bringing focus to the eyes. With colorful, bold hues, Art of the Eye offers products to emphasize your pretty peepers.

MAC is really challenging us to step outside of our comfort zone. I don’t know about you—but I can’t remember the last time I owned a magenta eyeliner! This review isn’t comprehensive, as it doesn’t feature all of the available pieces, but I think it’s enough to get the idea. [Read more…]

CARGO Color Palette Eyeshadow Quad in Vienna Review, Photos, Swatches

cargo eyeshadow

Even if this eyeshadow quad from CARGO was released a few years ago, I had to share it with you. It’s too gorgeous to pass up! In my humble opinion, CARGO’s eyeshadow singles have one of the best formulas on the consumer market. The shades are rich, pigment-packed, and feel super smooth. I found that the same qualities I love about the singles, were passed down to this fantastic foursome—the Color Palette Eyeshadow Quad in Vienna.

Flower Beauty Shadow Play Eyeshadow Quad in Foxy Browns Review, Photos, Swatches

flower beauty shadow play eyeshadow quad

Earlier this year, Flower Beauty launched exclusively at Walmart with much fanfare. The line was created in partnership with Drew Barrymore, and I’ve seen so many products from the line receive high praise in the blogosphere. I finally had a chance to check out a few pieces from the collection, and first up is the Shadow Play Eyeshadow Quad in Foxy Browns.

Shadow Play in Foxy Browns

This is a beautiful combination of browns and taupe with a soft shell pink for highlight, so my first impressions were favorable. To the touch, they feel so smooth and creamy—but they’re also powdery. It’s so hard to describe, because I can’t say that I’ve ever wanted to love something more. When I went to apply them, that’s when things went a little south. [Read more…]

MAC Temperature Rising Collection Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Temperature Rising Collection

It’s getting hot in here…

We all know that new MAC collections come fast, and they come furious. And I have to say, it’s been a long time since I’ve paused and been like—WOW—AMAZING! This post has taken me some extra time because I have not stopped dabbling in the new Temperature Rising Collection since it hit my desk. In a single word, I describe this one as “impressive”. Check out the pieces I tried!

Nail Lacquers in ‘Scorching Haute’, and ‘Tropical’

In the past, I’ve noticed some inconsistencies in the MAC Nail Lacquer formula. With Temperature Rising, I really liked the results I had with both shades, Scorching Haute, and Tropical. Both give stunning results with full coverage. The glitter in Scorching Haute looks good with two coats (but great with three), and Tropical looked perfect with just two coats. Unlike a lot of glitters I own, the finish was nice and smooth with my top coat of Seche Vite. (I personally find this one to work best!)
