Last month, I attended BlogHer 2011 in absolutely beautiful San Diego, and the weather and location could not have been more perfect. There was so much to do and see—at times, it was almost sensory overload! Between the expo floor, the sessions, the parties, and the beautiful city that I couldn’t get enough of, I came away with so much—both mentally and physically. I had experiences that I wouldn’t have had elsewhere, and I was fortunate enough to be introduced to some brand-spankin’ new products and experiences (and some that were just new to me). Check these out!
Powder Lift is a dream come true for fine-haired babes like myself. You shake out this very finely milled powder that’s made from aloe, silica, panthenol, and soy protein into your hand. A little goes a long way! It has a cooling feeling on contact, and you can either rake it through your hair with your fingers, or sprinkle it directly on your roots for INSTANT lift and volume. Another feature of this miracle product is that you can add it to other styling products—like mousse or gel, for added oomph! (eufora.net for locations)
I was SO excited to have the opportunity to be spray-tanned by the Self Tanning Queen herself, Sinead Norenius. Sinead is the brains and beauty behind this popular self-tanning product line that features a unique scent technology that cuts down on that foul self-tanning odor. The Beautisol spray tan formula is still rolling out in salons nationwide, so
ask for it demand it at your local salon! In the meantime, you can still get the perfect faux glow with Sinead’s at-home products; my favorite is the All-Seasons Glow. You might even recognize Sinead from HSN, where her line continues to sell out during her appearances—because it’s just that good! (beautisol.com)
I walked so much during the four days I was in San Diego, that by day two—it did not matter what shoes I wore, my feet and legs literally hated me. There were times they were so swollen that it was embarrassing. It didn’t even matter what shoes I wore! I tried ballet flats, flip flops, wedges—you name it. I could have worn 6-inch stilettos at that point; they hurt so badly that it didn’t even make a difference anymore. At a small after-hours pampering party, I was introduced to Lucky Legs Cooling Serum by Jill from Mama Mio. She took the time to give me a leg and foot massage with this magical spearmint, chamomile, aloe vera, and yarrow anti-fatigue serum—which was just what the doctor ordered! Not only did I feel some physical relief from the pain, some of the swelling went down and I slept much better that night as a result. Leave it to me to think that Mama Mio was just for pregnant women, but newsflash for me—it’s not! Mama Mio has an entire line of products for those with and without child!
